This is funny because this is the best way with not too many views for this video. Other not so good ways have tons more views for those videos. This makes it possible for those who are new to this to go with the not so good methods. Also, people who are new to this do not want to pull the flywheel. They do not have torque wrenches let alone know how to keep the crank from moving while torqueing the nut. Even the "KZbin stars" will ram the flywheel nut home with their electric impact and call it good.

I make a piece of linkage if your running the stock style carburetor, if you go to a mikuni you don't have to

Muscle Minibike Builds what State are you in ? I have 196cc Minibike and just got the Stage 2 upgrade kit in the mail today. I put the new Air Filter on. Put new Header Pipe on. Put new Carburator on and went to start it up just to see how much of a difference in Power those 3 things would make. It started up and I could tell it had more power right away cause the bike was trying to pull away without me on it lol. But something is wrong cause it stalled out like 10 seconds after starting it. I kept trying over and over and over and same thing keeps happening. It won't stay running for more than about 10 seconds each time I start it. As soon as you go to give it gas it dies out. This is my first time doing this so I don't know if it's something simple or something difficult. Have you ever seen this happen before ?

What if you just tap gear off the crank and leave the rest in place? Safe?

You could but at that point just gut the entire gov assembly

i did this now i have no compression and it wont start i think it has to do with the 2 round valve things that go up and down do they have to b in a certain position and i lined the dot up with the other dot

Did the cam come out when you took it apart and the lifters fall out of there holes?, you have to make sure the cam is back in the proper position the lifters are back in their holes so the pushrods are connected through the valve train it sounds like it came apart and now the pushrods or probably not hitting the Rockers pull the valve cover and make sure everything's the way it should be because if the pushrods dropped at a place they would have fallen out from underneath the rocker arms and basically the whole thing is not as it should be when you put it back together got to start with the basics first

You don’t have to cut the governor arm down, everyone I’ve seen said you had too but I just spun the crank abit. Otherwise nice video.

Almost every time you do if you do not have the the crank out, however sometimes you can get it out without cutting it with crank installed it just depends on the tolerance's of the motor since there is a lack of inconsistencies in build quality...

Muscle Minibike Builds Figured I’d just add it for others, Just Incase someone doesn’t have tools to cut it. On my hemi and Non hemi builds I got away with not cutting either.

I make a simple throttle linkage from the existing linkage rod back to the throttle arm

Have you had any leak issues not threading that governor hole before putting the bolt in? I don’t know about it self threading. Thanks

He went all the way with the loctite and copper washer. This will never leak. This method is nothing new and has been used by people who know what they are doing for years. You could tap the threads in if you want but it is not necessary.

Deucealive75 cool I didn’t bother to loctite the governor arm hole, the bolt was incredibly tight. I did loctite the governor hole. No tapping, just self threading screws. This is my first time opening an engine case. Thanks for the reply!
