Great point. The rules of engagement are much different for civilians defending their homes, then those of our military members in combat. The distances matter when you’re defending your home much more in a legal sense.

I've had this discussion several times with guys who just love the .308/7.62x51. They talk about how they can take someone out from say 500 or more. I mentioned to them that if its a SHTF/NROL scenario caused by a natural disaster or a riot at some point order will likely be restored. Then, law enforcement is going to start looking for the folks who put those rounds into the dead folks. If you can prove that the people you shot from 500 or so were shooting at you first, then you'll have a defense in court. If you can't, you'll be putting you life/freedom in the hands of 12 people, none of whom were smart enough to get out of jury duty. But also remember, it's going to take months or a year, maybe two after the "event" for you to come to trial most likely. People today, have short memories and attention spans. Many will forget how it was when the "event" was going on and now their life has returned to normal and has been for awhile.

I love being ambidextrous, it’s a gift I’ve always had since I can remember. When I go shooting which side I shoot depends on which hand I grab something with. And I practice both sides equally too. I trust my left side just as much as my right side, not just when it comes to the shooting range but in anything I do. From writing to playing guitar

Great video! Can’t wait to try it! Question about scoring though. Mr. H said that carbine shots in the zones were 10 pts, and pistol were 5. That said, he missed one pistol and one carbine outside of the zones, but he only deducted 3 and 2 points respectively. I would have thought it would be a 15 pt deduction.

If I look out my back door, it's a good 150 yd's to the back fence. If I look out across the front yard, it's at least 225 yd's to the street I live on. Very few trees either way. That's why me and the neighbor set us up a 360 yard shooting range. How ever, these day's we shoot black powder more and more.

Wish I had a range that would allow live fire training like that. I’m stuck with a RO yelling “NO RAPID FIRE” if I try to practice 2 to the body and 1 to the head, too fast! And they won’t allow starting from the low ready. And drawing from the holster is a huge NO (UNLESS you pay $100 to take their training class, then you can go for an hour on Mondays and they’ll allow drawing from the holster)

What Ken was talking about with switching shoulders and taking advantage of cover and concealment and giving the bad guy the smallest target to shoot back at is why I believe standard configured rifles are superior to bullpups. Well, that and because I'm left handed. CQB must be a nightmare for the countries that carry bullpups.
