How is the mic monitoring with wired headphones? Is there any delay?
@Gullyeon9 ай бұрын
Quick question. Is there much difference between make up gain & gain when adjusting the mic via 'Mic Settings'? 30DB & +5db makeup is too low for me, wanted to know if there is a quality preference in how much should be from the 'core gain' over the makeup.
@Turbo_David9 ай бұрын
The main gain is an "analog" gain where the make up gain is digital. You want to use the main gain as much as possible and try not to go over 10db on the make up as it is digital.

I purchased a set of dt990 headphones and noticed that mic monitor is low without an amp so I bought one I’m using a GOXLR mini so hopefully that brings the mic voice monitoring up to where it needs to be. Music sounds ok but things like alerts and stuff are low also

IF they are 250ohm that is expected. Lots of folks need an amp with those headphones.

Hey so I think my GOXLR mini's microphone amps inside the device has gone bad. I get white noise on the left channel but not the right channel when I use headphones. 1. Tried disconnecting my xlr mic 2. Tried reinstalling windows from scratch and re-installed the goxlr app and usb drivers 3. Tried a different set of headphones 4. I still hear audio but a faint hiss (white noise) on the left channel, but no the right channel on my headphones. 5. I tried a different power outlet 6 I tried powering the goxlr on a ANKER PORTABLE power bank and powered it that way (independent from my electrical system) still has the hiss on the left channel. Would you have any suggestions , at this point I might have to just order another goxlr mini , not sure how this happen overnight , nothing on my desk or setup changed so there should be nothing adding interference .

Hey, i've been struggling with my shadowplay clips my mic volume is WAY louder than all the other game sounds in the game. I believe it might be an issue with the mixer settings, but it's confusing to me i'm not sure how to fix it.
@spinalvideo17863 жыл бұрын
Hello!! I'm having an issue that I can't figure out for the life of me. When I'm streaming, I'll have music playing or the game playing. However, if it isn't loud enough, the mixer in Streamlabs doesn't pick it up, nor can my chat hear it. They only hear it when I talk or someone in my Discord talks. But, I can hear the music and game perfectly fine. It's like the opposite of a limiter. Can anyone help me with this??

thanks for the video it was really helpful! one thing, You mentioned the 990 pros, what cable do you use to go between goxlr and dac/amp such as the DROP O2 + SDAC DAC/AMP . Aux to RCA? i guess?
@Turbo_David3 жыл бұрын
Yes the GoXLR is a DAC already so you would only need the AMP side of that device. 3.5mm to RCA from goxlr headphone jack to the line in on the amp. Headphones plugged into the amp.
@booshaka11763 жыл бұрын
@@Turbo_David Excellent, now most cables are 3.5 mm to RCA L and R (white/red) , is there a cable that only has one RCA plug?
@Turbo_David3 жыл бұрын
@@booshaka1176 Umm that would be a digital cable Coaxial. Does that amp you have don't have analog input ? ie RCA L/R or 3.5mm line in?
@booshaka11763 жыл бұрын
@@Turbo_David its kind of weird drop.com/buy/drop-o2-sdac-dac-amp/talk?search=3.5 from the site "On the back of the device, you'll see a single set of RCA jacks labeled with symbols for both input and output. When you're using the USB input, the RCA jacks act as an output from the SDAC. If you disconnect the USB, you can connect analog input from your favorite DAC straight to the O2"
@Turbo_David3 жыл бұрын
@@booshaka1176 So then just use power (no usb on the device) and it will act as an amp with the normal 3.5mm to rca L/R cable. You may also need a ground loop isolator as well.
@ArchaicTTV2 жыл бұрын
great video turbo - is it possible to split out your microphone for your stream, seperating it from music/game/system sounds so that you can apply noise suppression to it? (to block out dog barking etc). Applying noise suppression as-is doesn't work as intended as its applying it to your music, games, system sounds etc instead of only your mic.
@Turbo_David2 жыл бұрын
Yup just add chat mic to obs and remove it from broadcast stream mix in your routing table

The entire video goes over how to properly set your mic volume and headphone volume
@Mickemukk3 жыл бұрын
I've followed this tutorial step by step. All works fine. But if I route my Spotify music to chat mic and try to record myself talking and plating music. The music is much lower than what I hear in my headphones, and relatively much lower than my voice. You mention in the video that to have music, games etc at higher volume in the output (stream, chat etc.) you have to have it very high in your headphones. So there is no good way to tune stuff so that i.e. music is around -10 to -5 dB in OBS like my voice? Without having really high volume in the headphones, or lower the headphone volume for me (which is not that conventient).
@Turbo_David3 жыл бұрын
-10 to -5 db on music is going to be extremely loud in your headphones depending on the volume of your headphones.
