Sounds like Australia. The disability and aged care sectors have been privatised. An untrained support worker expects $60+ an hour, an allied health person expects at least $200+ an hour and several hundred dollars to write a letter to support the purchase of a $50 item like a non slip bathmat (also overpriced because of NDIS privatisation). Don't be like Australia. Elderly citizens and those with disabilities are going homeless and missing meals while businesses charge like lawyers, yet, the government's solution now is to cut funding to the people who need it, rather than restructuring these systems to make them public. Privatisation doesn't work, and when it is a public service that becomes privatised, it becomes a fast way to drain money from public funds into private pockets.

Wow, you're clearly a great fan of a keto diet and it's worked for many people. How long for is a moot point. And one diet can't cure all the complex problems of overweight. Doesn't matter whether it's keto, calorie counting, fast or whatever you choose to do, the first thing always is to know that you need to change your diet and you need to apply those rules to the rest of your life, not the duration of a diet. And to lose weight there must be a calorie deficit in what's needed for daily energy caused by your living and hopefully exercising. Sadly human kind sees dieting as something to be got through, so you can go back to eating what the hell you like afterwards. And then there's the brain. If it's not 100% on board no diet or sensible eating plan for life, can work. So never more so than with a group of people who are disincentivised to lose weight by being told they must. And that's why the Ozempic plan will probably be popular in the short term but will be disastrous in the longer term. But if someone's looking for a keto diet enthusiast, then you must be that person. And it will work for some.

Our local rural GP surgery has closed and replaced with a nurse clinic run from a rented room in a local hospice. Rural services are being decimated, as six GP surgeries have now closed and are being run directly by the health board woth locums in difficult to reach sites. Mine has just sent me a copy of the rural bus schedule so I can make appointments in the next village with a surgery. But I dont expect to ever actually see a GP again, in petson. There's already many coercion against people on benefits. So many "partner" companies that people are forced to work with even those they look down on abuse and harass the people. Depression, anxiety and extended periods of stress can already cause muscle loss and brain matter reduction which is why people experience brain fog. This is many layers of malicious.

I have a friend whose arm was badly affected after a Pfizer jab. She lives abroad and was able to get about 40 sessions of physio which eventually helped but I don’t think it will ever be 100%

If every single person was forced back into work, disabled, sick and idle, where the hell is Stammer going to find the that amount of employers to employ them AND all the people he is letting in our country on a daily basis? Now patient participation committee have written to NHS England to request funding again to find its been replaced by Plantar a US private health organisation so we are stuffed.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing when this news came out. I'm all for people having a choice and being free to eat, diet or use whatever meds they choose, but my fear is that the subtext here is that folk will be compelled to take the drug or lose benefits (I'm retired and unaffected). My reaction was 'this health minister thinks he's a farmer!' Regardless of what he says to the contrary, this IS nothing short of dystopian in its philosophy. This plan views individuals as nothing more than units of production - cattle, or machine parts.
