Currently trying out a Minisforum V3...It's crazy good. But the more I see that OneXPlayer x1, the more I'm considering it. Seems to be more the size I'm looking for. The V3 is great, but it's much bigger than I expected (not a bad thing, depends on uses)

Bro the magnetic grips r a serious GAME CHANGER for the Win Mini's ergonomic, and they look off the Ocu port because people went postal about the lack of usb port, even tho they give u a C to A dongle, but now that the Ocu is gone people r losing their minds again , "grass is always greener" / "people always want what they dont have" types of shenanigans i guess

Hey I been wondering bro, what do u think of the 2 pro controllers? Are they better feeling ergonomically since they r larger than the X1 controllers? I was thinking those controllers would've been a much better size option to use on the X1 than the size of the ones we actually get

OXP 2 controllers are 100% more comfortable than the X1. BUT they are much thicker so it wouldn’t really work on the X1 unless the tablet was almost 2x the thickness. But who wants an 11in tablet that thick? 🤷🏽‍♂️ It’s an unfortunate compromise to have a 3in1.

@@BarelyAverageDude oh ya I totally get that, I just meant like if they modeled the X1 controllers closer to that of 2/2 pro to be more proportionate to the 11 inch tablet size then it wouldve been much better if a decision I think, like same materials and whatnot but alter the size a lil bit and maybe move some buttons/joysticks around for optimal ergonomics

To be fair to the intel chip, it was running Returnal 1200P vs 1080p on the Win Mini. So its more like 42-43 fps for the AMD chip. Still a sizeable difference.

I just connected my Win Mini to a 1200p monitor and it got 45fps at 25w *Intel is cooked* 😅🤷🏽‍♂️ The 7840u already gets 43/44fps on all my 1200p devices

You have to make sacrifices when adding detachable controllers like this. It's by design to have the one usb-c port covered while in handheld mode, you don't need more than 1 port lol you can't use a keyboard, mouse and controllers all at the same time so what else are you planning on plugging in? If you need more just use a 180 degree usb-c adapter and velcro a usb-c hub to the back of the device and charge it through that 😅

@@chrisboucher2813 it’s by design; a bad design 😅🤷🏽‍♂️ Put one on each side or put one on top. I won’t accept that covering a port in handheld mode is the best design humanly possible. We shouldn’t argue that “you don’t need more than 1 port in handheld mode” because you don’t even have the option if you wanted to. In my use case I would definitely utilise both ports, even in handheld mode because EVERY other handheld with 2 ports can use both while handheld. I understand trade offs (every device has them), but when I think something can be better I say that.

I saw you post that you have a Razer Kishi Ultra/Ipad Mini setup. I'm interested in your thoughts on that controller and setup overall? And do you think the ergonomic issue with the X1 would be alleviated with the smaller X1 mini?

1. I love the iPad mini with Kishi ultra! It’s now my favourite way to play PSP games. It also has enough performance to play every game iOS has to offer that doesn’t require an M1 chip. If you have an iPad mini stop reading this and get the Kishi ultra! 2. I don’t think the x1 mini will improve the ergonomics enough to be comfortable. Yes it will be lighter which helps, but the real problem is the actual position of the stick and buttons. My thumb won’t be less cramped because it’s the same controller. But we’ll see if I change my mind when it comes.

I guess I'm going to cancel my X1 mini order because I have large hands as well and when I saw you point out that right stick position issue, that pretty much was a deal breaker for me. Controls and comfort are extremely important to me. I think most reviewers gloss over it, but I'm glad you take the time to point these things out.

I understand that the x1 controller probably feels good in smaller hands, but if you have smaller hands do you really want to hold the most massive handheld available? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Nice comparison. Many people are looking to compare these two handhelds, but they released the OneX1 8840u with VRR screen (according to ETA Prime). I wonder which is the best if compared with the GPD Mini. Additionally, the GPD Mini has a third-party handgrip with magnetic attachments, as well as options for magnetic fans.

Performance will be pretty much the same so it depends on what form factor you prefer. After using the intel X1 I didn’t even bother getting the AMD version because the controllers are so uncomfortable. I don’t want a handheld that doesn’t feel good in the hands. (I did get the x1 mini tho) 🤷🏽‍♂️

​@@BarelyAverageDude I got my OneXPlayer X1 AMD a few weeks ago. You are right about the joystick feeling cheap and the thumb sticks are bad. I bought a G8+ controller, need s small mod and fits well, and it needs DS4 software to hide the DS4 but it shows as an Xbox controller

You can’t have anything else connected, that’s the problem. 😅🤷🏽‍♂️ There’s so many reasons someone would want to use both of their ports while in handheld mode, but they don’t even have the option. If the port was accessible in handheld mode, would you say “don’t put anything other than charging cord?”

Aside from the X1Con, it might be better to ASUS ROG Flow Windows tablet, IIRC you might be able to pick one up at BB for around 1.5k USD, it comes with a 13th gen i9 and a RTX 4060.

I actually have the ROG flow z13 with 4060. It's my go to gaming tablet (I don't use it as a laptop) It's a great device, but you gotta be plugged in if you want more than 25mins of battery.

The problem with these devices is that is that they rush to make a new one all the time, so, what do we have now: they just released a much better x1 mini with better amd graphics, which makes the “original intel x1” pretty much obsolete, but the damn thing was JUST released and it’s ALREADY obsolete, try getting this thing repaired in few months or whenever

*IMO the Intel version was always obsolete.* BUT OXP doesn't actually release that many devices, you're thinking of AyaNeo 😅 OXP only has 4 devices in their current lineup: OXP mini, OXP 2, Onexfly, and X1 GPD only has 3 devices in the current lineup: Win Max 2, Win 4, win mini. Repair is already hard because they are all the way in China. The X1 mini won't make it any harder to get the original X1 repaired; service is already laughable. 🤷🏽‍♂️

That's how it should be! Imagine if playstation and xbox did that all the time, the price will go down for 2nd hand, and they would improve the versions every 6 months, that's the best thing for the community. People are always talking bad about China, when in reality they have the best mentally, in the west every year for example apple comes up with a "new" phone which has 98% same features and people go crazy and spend $1000+, or buy a playstation and have to wait 6+ years for the new one.

I use stick caps made for the Meta quest 2 controller. They fit with it closed. It would be a chore to put them on every time 😅🤷🏽‍♂️
