Which is the better mod in terms of battery life this one using 3x ladda 2450 batteries or the lipo 3.7v 4000mah battery mod ?
@WhatsUpHiro4 жыл бұрын
Is 3.6v sufficient for the Pi Zero? I saw another video that used a charging boost module to get up to 5v. Also, what kind of battery life could I expect out of this setup before I need to recharge?
@AkumaMods4 жыл бұрын
Booster is not needed for one is built into the board. If you use a booster it'll blow up the onboard booster. That is not a smart thing to use....as for play time I get usually 2 1/2 hours of play before I call it quits so never really went past that but I've heard they have about 3 hours of hard use out of them

@@pinobarbareschi6452 no shouldnt be a problem. The battery monitor should make sure it charges at the correct currents but just make sure it's the right type of battery. This tutorial is for NIMH batteries. However there is a Tutorial for LIPO batteries

Depending on the charging circuit, you may only need to connect one ground. On the NIMH charging circuit that I received, the grounds on the input and output were bonded, so during install I only needed to connect three wires total. (V+, B+, GND)
@AkumaMods4 жыл бұрын
This is correct the one I use is a straight in line I just wire it up as precaution to make sure everything is working as intended and I'm not worried about something possibly blowing up because I didn't have the board in line
@BrianCzapiga4 жыл бұрын
@@AkumaMods It's good practice to probe the pads you are connecting. For instance, I used your video as reference to get the initial pads, but when I was on the workbench doing the install I didn't have the video in front of me, so I used a multimeter to check connectivity for ground and the actual pad for the 5v (continuity check from the barrel socket.) It's just one more thing to check when wiring to verify the grounds are connected on the charging circuit.

@AkumaMods3 жыл бұрын
Probably because there is not enough power to charge and play at the same time. The circuit I'm using doesn't provide enough input power to do a play and charge setup. It will do a play and charge but it's only charging about 5% capacity when playing. Kind of the same premise as jumpstarting a car. Usually doesn't start right away. Needs some time to charge

So I tried the mod and it does seem to charge the battery but not fully. After about an hour or so the unit stops charging as indicated by the LED light not emitting. If I unplug and re-plug it will begin charging again, but again after an hour or so, it will stop charging again. I tested the on screen time of the device after a charge the unit only stays powered for about an hour or so before dying and these are with new 1.2 volt 2400 mah batteries. Is there a reason why the unit would stop charging?
