I 100% like my GT better than my ultratech! I absolutely hate the glass breaker and the pocket clip needs a redesign for better deep carry

Recently got to try out a guardian tactical and I instantly bought one after trying it out. I’ve owned and carried my ultratech almost everyday for over half a year and it’s good but man the guardian tactical I bought is so much better. I picked myself up a GT Scout and I recommend everyone that’s interested in GT to please try out the action if you get the chance.

It was wild hearing you guys mention the Cypher, as that's the exact reason I'm watching. My first, only, and last Microtech is the red Cypher S/E. Verified it was legit when I got it, never used it for anything but a paper test, and it has failed to eject or retract ever since the first week of owning it. Never dropped it, never hit it. The thing only ever saw my thumb opening it and some paper. 500$ for a paper weight within a week. I tried all the tricks to get it working again that didn't involve sending it back or cracking it open. I've lost way too many packages in transit to risk sending it off in the mail. The absolutely terrible quality of the mechanism really drove me away from OTFs for a long, long time. Thing is gorgeous, but Microtech? Can't say I'd ever buy from them again.

I've wanted a guardian tactical for a few years unfortunately it hasn't been in the budget I would definitely like to check one out though

Microtech is like the Olight of the OTF world. The fit and finish is good but GT feels so much better in the hand.

Well, microtech is reliable, unlike olight. Never had a gt for the feel, but I don't have a problem with microtech for the feel.

I have both and the GT is hands down better. Better steel, action and finish.

If the Guardian Tactical wasn't as slick as a bar of soap, I'd still have mine. Finger grooves are no replacement for jimping. If they make a Version 2 and make it a smaller Recon 040, I'd buy one.

Microtech UI/UX low key sucks. It shouldn’t take all of your thumb strength to deploy the knife, that defeats the whole purpose of having an OTF, which is all about having a premium user experience. I think microtech has gotten so arrogant thinking they are the best in the OTF game and that they don’t need to work on improving their product anymore. Apple products are similar nowadays, their phone UI sucks also. The lesson here is to not stop improving because your competitors will gladly take your customers from you.

@@MattClare-g6u not at the $500 price. Kershaw livewire and guardian tactical OTFs are much more affordable, have a way better feel in hand. If the scarab 2 was like half the price then it would be a good contender but spending 500 bucks on a knife (with crappy warranty and customer service I might add) is just too much.

The Microtech is hard for females and the elderly? Yeah, no. I'm neither. The Microtech action is crap. Guardian Tactical is superior. In fact, Heretic is also superior to Microtech. Yes. I own all of these brands.

I got Kershaw livewire with the same red ultratech you guys got 😂😂😂 i love both equally i can never talk about these things especially damage they have caused and took and still works 😂😂😂
