Just got this one and it is FANTASTIC. Anso is my favorite knife maker (along side Geoff/Tuffknives) so I had to have it.

Nice. Both very excellent makers. Thanks for watching.

A first for ZT. Glad you like it. Thanks for watching.

Picked one up and will be interesting to see how the detent holds up! Thanks for the review!
@Gpknives5 жыл бұрын
Ball detent works just like liner/frame locks so it should last as long as the knife does. Thanks for watching.

I’ve heard of the designer before but I’m not sure if I’ve seen his blades or not, I’m sure I have. I picked this up a couple weeks ago and I really like it. I used to have a BM proper but this ZT is amazing. I know that it’s a slipjoint but when I saw Ansos Monte Carlo with a pocket clip I wish this had one. I’d like to get some sort of hook to put on a lanyard to act as a pocket clip.

Anso and his compatriot Jesper Voxnaes (Vox) are two of the most prolific designers around. They have multiple designs with several major manufacturers and their own company called Giant Mouse. Thanks for watching and try this for a clip alternative: TEC Accessories P-7 Suspension Clip - www.gpknives.com/tecaccessoriesp7clip.html

I got a Monte Carlo when he first started making them. It was perfect but i think it was like $800 from jens so i never carried it. If these are ground the same as his customs, they will be amazing little slicers, much better than the BM proper.
@Gpknives5 жыл бұрын
Not sure how the custom version are ground but the 0230 is full flat. Much more affordable and available than the customs. Thanks for watching.

Hmm the up market proper or this? Decisions decisions

Both are solid, modern slip joints. Different styles for sure.

This with a drop point would be perfect.
@Gpknives5 жыл бұрын
I believe that Anso only makes it in this blade shape so most likely that is all that will be made.
@Metaxas3605 жыл бұрын
@@Gpknives Thanks. Yes I also think so. But maybe ZT will go for a similar design with a nice drop point one day :) 0450CF slip joint...

No spring?

It is a detent slip joint. See the last picture here: zt.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/zt0230

I wish there were different scales on this other than CF, not everyone drives a pick up truck.
@Gpknives4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what driving a pickup truck has to do with the knife but unfortunately there are only CF scales at this time. Zero Tolerance often does limited runs with different handle materials/blade finishes but I do not know if this model will receive that treatment. Thanks for watching.

one guy on another channel said 5$ for carbon, 2 screws and 10$ for blade price for stupid customers : 2 hundreds and even more for other knives
@Gpknives4 жыл бұрын
I guess he probably makes his own knives then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@MARKLINMAN13 жыл бұрын
This would be PERFECT if it were a FLIPPER.
@Gpknives3 жыл бұрын
🤷♂️ Would be a totally different knife at that point. I would be all in for one with a liner/back lock and thumb disk myself. 😺

That's exactly what was lacking in the knife world... a tactical sodbuster. For the Navy Seal that wants to cut a hardboiled egg... -.-
@Gpknives4 жыл бұрын
Not tactical, nor a Sodbuster. I think the 0230 is just a real classy, modern slip joint. Just my .02¢. I guess you could ask Mr. Anso if you want to know for sure.
@JohnDoe-bw3tz4 жыл бұрын
@@Gpknives I was just kidding... ;-) I'm actually glad ZT did this, I already loved the Monte Carlo, just couldn't afford one... but I'm gonna have me one of these, that's for sure.
@donalddevall71843 жыл бұрын
Oddly enough, when i bought mine today, me and the counter guy were standing there handling and discussing an array of ZT blades, totally bashing this thing. I mean what were they going for? A futuristic version of your grandpappy's pocket knife? It doesnt have a spring assisted open or even a flipper! All it has is lightweight a kinda cool look. I mean, that carbon fiber with the electric blue accent lanyard loop kinda grows on you..... and for anything other than tacticool larping the sheepsfoot is a super practical blade shape. And its super slim and simple..... kind of the knife equivalent of a BBQ gun. (gun you wear to the family BBQ because it looks nice, not because you'd ever want to fight with it.) yea ring it up I want it. :D
