Definitely impressive. It is also much better and excellent than the tracking feature in the Litchi for DJI Drones app on the android side. I was going to sell the first version Dji mini just because it didn't have a tracking feature and spend a ton of money on the dji air with tracking feature. A wonderful app. I have two questions : First, How does one change the camera feed size within Maven, if on the map screen. Another question I have is how one can change the Fn button’s purpose ( like downward gimbal direction ) using this app . I realize the gimbal is controlled in the Follow Me and Waypoint mode but if just in simple GPS MODE it seems I can only alter the gimbal angle manually . Thanks

I m using your app with the Mavic Air 2. tracking in the horizontal works great! When I m using it for skiing the drone can t keep up vertically. I think it s not the apps fault but the too limited vertical speed ability. Do you know if a Mavic 2s could go down faster in track me mode or is there the same limit for all drones due to the virtual stick interface that does not exploit the 6m/s fully? So I m not sure if it s worth purchasing another drone.

An idea for consideration: can the alerts re: weak gps signal on the phone/device be made more pronounced? When riding, it can be pretty difficult to see the gps signal strength of the phone, An audible alarm every few seconds until acknowledged might help some in some situations. A area of the screen that is large enough to catch one's eyes could flash yellow or red to get rider's attention, again until acknowledged. None of this will be perfect - but improving the odds that the problem is noticed earlier rather than later would be a good thing. Screens can be hard to see in sunlight, especially smaller areas of a screen. I have blue tooth connection between phone and in helmet speakers - and that would alert me right away. Just an idea - not sure if even possible or if feasible, what sort of effort and//or expense might be involved. Food for thought..... Thanks for this great app - just did my first follow me mission the motorcycle. When connected. it is absolutely great. When the phone loses gps signal, the drone can be placed at risk - battery usage levels, automatic home point updating, etc.

Using the follow mode Copilot I wish to follow my car around a famous race track in Australia call Bathurst. It does have trees that overhang the track will the obstacle avoidance still work on my air 2s. Or should I just use the APAS 4.0 with a DJI App ?

Hi, I recently got this app. I am flying a Dji Mini 2. So I tried the follow me mode, it followed me perfectly but after looking at the footage I noticed that the drone moved left to right constantly. I wasn’t driving too fast either, I was driving 50km/h. Is there a setting I need to change to prevent this from happening?

At 5:00 you say 'tracking'. Does this mean it is now optical (active-track) instead of GPS follow-me? Or is it also GPS? I don't have a DJI Mini.....yet. But with your app I'm now seriously thinking of getting one. Till now I have used a couple cheaper drones. I always look at the follow-me function. There are basically two types: string, and compass. I prefer compass type where it will stay north south east west of you. This way I can see what it is doing by having it fly in front or next to me. My Fimi A3 is excellent thanks to the controller with built-in GPS. Super responsive and accurate follow-me. But batteries are a problem. The SJRC F11 4k does a reasonably good job. It will auto-yaw when you use the sticks in follow-me mode. But it does not have a homepoint update option which is very scary!! Have to race back before a trucks runs over my drone. Then I have a LYZRC L109 Pro. Funny enough that cheap thing does a really useful follow-me 'compass-type' and will do a return-to-controller(phone) while in or after using the feature. I wish the gimbal was better. And here is question number 2. Do you think it is possible for me to change the type of follow-me by editing a file in an app? Because some apps only have 'string' type follow-me. Or will only follow from one (too close and useless) distance. I have tried to connect apps with compass type follow-me to drones with string type. But no luck. Has to do with the WiFi version I guess. Thank you.

It’s NOT optical.. it’s gps tracking.. follow you from a fixed angle (that you choose.. will keep the geographic angle that you have with the drone when you start the function, you can change the angle by start the orbit and stop ad desidererei angle)

@@mavenpilot Excellent. I'm sure optical active-track is very useful in certain situations. But in general I prefer GPS follow-me. Especially riding a bike. Why DJI cripples their drones by not adding follow-me I don't know. It really isn't more risky than people trying to have it follow manually or using 'tricks' like circle-me. And the best sensors are still those you were born with, your eyes and brains. Don't use follow-me were it may crash into obstacles. Thank you very much!

@@mavenpilot You may find this interesting. F11 4k follow-me. Not too bad, but bit jerky. Worst is the return-to-home. Can't cancel it! Ciao. I am using my Iphone SE with dji fly app and I could connect to my Mini 2. But with the Maven app, I got the red message on upper left that aircraft is not connected. Also in settings. I have the message red 'error' for overal status but I don t know what is the error. What is strange is when I switch to the dji fly I can see that my rc is connected

They are working . But. Be safe, You can go faster that ability of sensor to work. Also You can travel side way , most drone don’t have side sensor..

Is there any option to completely lock the controls (phone and control)? I'd like to try a follow me footage while kitesurfing, thus I'd need to carry phone/control with me in a waterproof bag and wouldn't like to touch anything accidentaly.

Yes, there’s a lock button (added after this tutorial was made) that will prevent touch and remote stick to change follow parameters. If you kitesurf I will suggest to make sure that auto home point update is disabled.

Try to start the function when the drone is further away.. check the lower right indicator of the gps accuracy is Green…

There’s a on screen lock button (added after this tutorial was made) , that disable remote controller sticks and touch controll , so you can put the remote and iPhone in the backpack
