Great job. Very nice mounting position. I had a Garmin installed about the same place on a previous motorcycle I owned and am thinking about doing it again for my new Heritage. I really like running the Garmin off the bike power so it turns on when the bike is running. No worrying about charging it up. Thanks for sharing your install.

I ordered one of these brackets from Ali express after watching you and alchemoto’s videos - I didn’t know there was a name brand / made in America one until I saw the comments here just now - I went in the way alchemoto did and left some of the assembly in place - soldered some SAE leads to the heated gear adaptors - installed my Tom Tom rider 550 with the keyed security device - finishing up a video on it - will try to post soon - thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for this very clear video. Where can I buy the stand you show in the video?

not sure which stand you're referring to. The bracket came from Ali Express. The gps base came with the gps.

Hi, thanks for watching. No, sorry I don't have the part number from Ali Express saved anywhere and I'd have to do a search for it as well. But it should turn up under a simple search

Isn’t the gps on the bike any good? I see alot of people are putting there own on. Im ready to buy a pan americian tuesday.

The HD navigation is reliant on the HD app on your phone and basically just mirrors the phone screen onto the TFT. It is very glitchy and pretty much useless. The bike does not have navigation built into it nor does it support CarPlay. So you need to rely on a phone app or a stand alone gps.

Clean install. That is a total knock off off the war eagle mount. The only thing I do not like about it is I can not put a lock on the GPS. May make some alterations just to keep it from walking away. How do you like the Ram Ball mirror mounts. I tried similar ones but they would break the mirrors loose.

Oh I know, The FB groups have already hung me out to dry over it. Which is why I didnt mention any of that in my video. Thanks for that BTW. The mirror mounts work good. They were on my old bike so I just transferred them to the PA. No issues with them loosening and they work good for my phone and GoPro.

Sorry, didn't mean to bring it up. But it is no different from people buying tank pads on grill guards. It's good to have options, and your review and install is helpful. Great stuff. Keep it up.

Ive seen where somebody took a long set screw with an allen head and screwed in between the GPS and the latch on the mount to deter a would be thief. There is a locking plate that mounts under the GPS and secures it the same way. www.motopumps.com/shop/zumo-xt-security-lock?gclid=CjwKCAjw_YShBhAiEiwAMomsEC19tq37gh1kjVwMXm6LgRlPeFEmGYOfWVdY5v_88ReVykPm2SqhjhoClsgQAvD_BwE

I don't get why you need to run power to the Garmin. Seems overkill. You can plan off-road trips on the HD app and you can download the entire US maps to your phone for lost signal. Isn't the Garmin just a backup? I have a headset paired with the bike and don't want to jack with re-pairing for different purposes. If this is just a cool motorcycle dude thing, I get it. Carry on
