GPWS: The clock cleaning formula prep!

In this episode, I explain how the new cleaning solution (suggested to me by okbridges) will be used in my videos and how I'm going to be making it/modifying the process. I also show my new ultrasonic cleaner off a bit.

You are off to a good start! I modified Tom Temple's formula as well for doing phonograph motors. I made it more aggressive by adding lacquer thinner and a bit more acetone. For phono motors, I mix it as 12oz acetone, 12oz ammonia, 12oz lacquer thinner, 4oz oil soap, and water to fill the container to cover the parts. That is the mix I used to clean the Edison motor, and I was very happy with the results. I mix in a metal paint can sold at Lowe's because acetone will melt some plastics, though not all. Test your plastic container first.

Shockingly, my method actually was working for the phonograph! If I do switch over, I'll be sure to come back to your idea. I'll also be sure to test the plastic containers on camera.

Oh My God Greg I Remember Those Metal Tray's When I Was Kid I Remember My 3rd Grade Teacher Was Using It For Her Projector

Did you ever make video of you mixing this formula? I can't seem to find it if you did.

Due to corona, I wasn't able to get the last ingredient (the 26% ammonia). I'll just have to wait it out until this is through.

@@thegregolahorologyclub6799 ok got it.. im gonna try mixing this for the first time myself. . Im just gonna use the household ammonia that i have on hand.. maybe ill film it...
