An unbiased Test Ride Review of the GPX TSE 300 by a well known local rider with over 30 yrs experience in Enduro riding. A man with many race wins and runner up podiums enduro and hard enduro. What's does he have to say? Checkout the film to find out.
Apologises for any audio discrepancies during the interview. I'm testing a new microphone and the setting was a little high.

Great review...whilst the 300 is aimed at more experienced riders and pitched as a ' pro' machine, I was really pleased to see it happily trickling along in first and second on quarter throttle in the woods...and ironically, if Mark, as an Expert class rider says it lacks a bit of snap, then that means it's ideal for the rest of us .😊 So it's a KTM copy? Let's see...KTM bought Husaberg, Husqvarna, Gas Gas...this sure is a convenient way to get new riders into off road riding...and what would they upgrade to after a GPX?? 😉 Or maybe one day GPX will buy KTM!!

Fantastic unbais video. If you're a complete beginner to Enduro throwing and crashing a 6k bike around whilst learning the skills to improve makes a lot more sense than doing the same with a 10k bike I feel. Looking forward to pt2 👍🏼

For 6k you can find a very solid second hand name brand bike you gotta keep in mind if you are a beginner how easy is it to get parts for the bike and how expensive those are too as you said while we learn we will do alot of crashing thats why i bought a 2016 KTM 300 exc as my learner bike! Also because its second hand *to me* i dont mind scratching it as much as a brand new bike regardless how expensive haha sure KTM's might be more expensive but OEM parts and after market parts are super easy to get it seems! *ps sorry for my bad English haha im from The Netherlands hope you have a great day!*

I think he’s right when he says there is a market for the average person who wants a good bike without spending 10k on a competition machine.

@@neilcook8774 Oh for sure Neil im not debating that but what if something breaks and you want an OEM replacement part? specially as a novice *which im even below that so i dont know anything haha* but you do tend to fail n break stuff as you learn.

This is why I bought one, with original name, Lextra 300 KXY directly from China. With less than 6000 USD I got a nice 2 T bike to trash around without worrying too much.

Great Review..there are plenty of upgrades you can make to these to bump them up a bit...GPX really got a decent bike with this one....couple of Quality control issues but Gary Goodwin and Joe Henner have looked into them and are fixing them and letting the factory know about them. Thanks for the honest reviews Robbo.

We are an off-road company based in Southeast Asia, and run Japanese and European bikes (not Chinese ones anymore). We never found any real advantage on bikes like the GPXs. Yes, they are cheaper, but have a much shorter lifespan in terms of reliability and longevity, correct parts are not easy to find, and are extremely difficult to resale even at cheap, cheap prices. Thus we don't see much reason to buy them. Been said that; without doubts off-road machines require too much gold nowadays to exit the dealer showrooms!

Gpx is an American company that stocks every part you could possibly need. The bikes are made in China just like all the other bikes. They aren't $2000 China bikes that you can't find parts for. Different category all together.

Robbo, for an overall 2 stroke for a normal guy that can wrench on his own stuff and wants to legally drive it to the trails (i.e., dual sport), do you recommend the TSE300R or the TSE250R? I sort of like the 250R due to what appears to be a quite reliable bike. I also am just a normal weekend warrior trial rider that enjoys the 2 stroke but I don’t need it to have 52 HP like the 300. What say you since you’ve ridden both extensively?

Very interesting review. I understand that these bikes come with a 40mm mikuni carb copy. I'd be interested to hear if a 36mm keihin pwk carb would rectify the perceived fuelling issues?
@RobboRobinson
@RobboRobinson 11 ай бұрын
All UK bikes have the PWK 38mm Keihin copy carb. Since this review it was adjusted accordingly and runs great. I now have an XTNG carb on trial which works like a smart carb. Results so far very good.

Pretty wild that GPX is able to produce a bike like this. Still, can’t get behind a company that blatantly rips off KTMs R&D and ignores patents. Does this not bother you?
@RobboRobinson
@RobboRobinson Жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure Austria are making some money over this as it’s now old tech for them. With their China connections they are big enough to have stopped this if they were not involved. Besides the Austrian’s and others will still maintain their customer base as they lead the way. GPX numbers are very small in comparison. As far as patents go both sides are keeping quiet from what I know unless someone out there can shed some more light on the situation. Until then I’m happy with the product.

As an american, I had to laugh... I had to put on the subtitles because I couldn't understand anything! Great riding. I think that guy was very critical, overly so, on the GPX. He's an elite rider, and very few of us will need a bike to do the things he requires.

All this needs is a STIC Super X carb by STICSuperTorque. But only if you want power approaching 450 levels. I've got one on an old 200SX and it pulls new 250F's and a '98 KX250! I'm mixing it up with 450F's. The latter is a new level at the track for me. To keep it in control, I run the slowest turn G2 throttle cam. On the tight trails it has unstoppable grunt and lofts the wheel in an instant. Defo more responsive than TPI or any available carb, which are not hi-performance.

Which one did you have? The only GPX bike that I've seen such comments about is the 450. I've also heard about faulty or dirty injectors causing engines to run like shit.
