There's just something so endearing about Jeremy Strong, I'm completely smitten... I know he comes across as pretentious to some people, but the thing with the word "pretentious" is that it refers to pretending, to doing something or pretending to be something in order to impress. Whatever Jeremy does is the opposite of pretending: he's so painfully earnest it can be cringy at times, but I find it very refreshing and completely adorable for some reason. I mean the guy goes to great lengths to describe how even acting is never "pretending" for him, like he's literally unable to pretend. Jeremy Strong is such a rare, special person. So naturally emotional and sensitive to life and its wonders. Since watching Succession and seeing him play Kendall so well I was super interested on his take on how he plays him, which led down a rabbit hole of just enjoying him as a person. Most of these actors would be cracking jokes and trying to act like they’re like your typical neighbor down the street…not Jeremy. He takes his craft seriously and isn’t ashamed about it. He is also brilliant at it. And that is a breathe of fresh air.
