He quite said that he and Mysterio can put up a match without having to say a single word to each other. I loved that subtle double intendre: he remarks the great professionalism and experience of Rey Mysterio as a performer and at the same time he remarks his own, even if he does not wrestle for a promotion since 2014, opposite to John Cena that even if he wrestled for almost 16 years straight in WWE (not counting his time in OVW) still had to call out loud his spots

Facts about Nacho Libre: The character of Ramses (the one with the gold gear/bad guy of the movie) was actually portrayed by a real mexican luchador known as "Silver King" that unfortunately passed away last year by a heart attack during a match in London. The dude blowing the whistle in 3:19 is Armando Gaytan, probably the most famous ring announcer in Lucha Libre. And the movie is kinda based on the story of a luchador called "Fray Tormenta".

@@steph_J5hunnid72 What are you on about? He was already doing it back when he was in WWE, as were plenty of other WWE guys. The business has been exposed for decades, Punk was part of a worked shoot that, admittedly, was one of the best shoots ever, but ultimately he wasn't the one who broke down the 4th wall and ultimately it was the decision of Vince to have it happen in the first place, lol.

It's like being in the military. Once you're out, you love to talk about the subject based on your experiences and prior knowledge, but being in it was just not enjoyable most times. Coming back, you realize it's something you relate to and the many art forms (although maybe not entirely factual or realistic) allow you to put your two cents in and wonder how you would have fared in the situations faced by other characters.

Wrestling is the only thing that's kept him relevant. He wants to advertise his film, he gets asked about wrestling. It's how it works when companies just care about clicks. "not a fan of his straight edge stuff" do you mean his early career gimmick? Or his real life philosophy? Because it's kinda weird if it's the latter: "I don't like that this guy doesn't drink or do drugs".
@Shendue
@Shendue 3 жыл бұрын
@@Aditya-sn4sr Some straight edge people can be perceived as obnoxious because they call out people that drink or smoke. Some even do that and then secretly drink and smoke themselves, which is hypocritical. Also, some people simply gets annoyed by the culture. Straight edge isn't just identified by not drinking and not doing drugs, otherwise muslims would be considered straight edge, too. There's also a lot of ostentation about it, with showy tattoos and the music and style. People can choose not to drink nor do drugs without judging others that do, and without going around sporting tattoos shouting their lifestyle choices. That can be perceived as a fad-like niche culture like punk, dark, hipster, etc., and some people just dislike the idea of adhering to a fad because they perceive it as mob mentality, lack of individuality. I personally don't have any particular opinion about them, but I can see someone disliking them for this or that reason. That said, he was probably referring to his straight edge GIMMICK.

This man has such an effortless, charisma. I could happily listen to him talk about pretty much anything for hours. I don't know why any wrestling fan would dislike him. And to all the smart-arses bringing up his mma career... that was a once in a lifetime opportunity and he took it. He should be applauded for having the balls to step in there with a genuine mma fighter, at that age. How about you get in the octagon, and see how you get on?

I stopped watching wrestling when I was about 10. One day when I was about 30 I catched a glimpse of CM, and caught my attention. His realness, his talent at the mic, his straight edge/hardcore persona, etc., made an impression and I started watching. It was like a tough guy off the streets decided to wrestle. He also blended realism and illusion so well. The last of the greats.

He must not like Cena, because he also mentioned that he wouldn't whisper when they were improvising, that he would talk loud enough for the people in the cheap seats to hear him, which seems extremely unprofessional. Imagine the 7 year old kid who idolizes Cena and thinks it's all real, and his dream comes true and he gets front row seats to Raw. And then he hears Cena being an idiot, and calling out the moves they're gonna do.

These days the superkick has been jobbed out to the point of being pointless - chalk it up to all the wrestlers who were kids watching HBK use it, now they all aped it for their repertoire. Kinda sucks because none of them do it as well as HBK... it's kinda like KO's stunner; it looks like crap but they think they can get a pop out of it, so they use it.
