Interesting simulator. I was an Ordnance/Missle Tech. In the 2nd USMC MAW I enjoy seeing the bombs, guns and missiles I use to assemble and load with my mates. Good old days.

It's a free game (though you pay to get any planes aside from SU-25 and TF-51) if you have a reasonable computer you should get it. Fun to fiddle around with

The damage model for bombs and ground units really needs to be worked on because it's shit. 500Kg bomb explodes meters near a soft armored column .. only 1 unit gets hurt, the rest are fine. In reality ..a 500 kg bomb exploding near you is devastating. Note that the 500Kg bomb was just an example. YOu can throw the biggest you have around (except the nuke) and the outcome will be more or less the same. Horrible. I hate it so much that i don't use bombs anymore if i have other options. Imagine ww2 scenarios ..

@@riskinhos To the contrary, these bombs were effective only when scoring more or less direct hits. Impacts that were maybe a vehicle length away. The guys in this video were scarcely getting things with 50 meters.

Tbf, this is why guided munitions were developed. Even with modern avionics, radar, laser range finders etc, dumb bombs just aren't accurate enough to kill anything armoured (most of the time), without getting dangerously close to shorad systems

Yeah, there is something seriously wrong with the damage model on those APCs in this session. I don't if it's just ping/sync/whatever general network issues or something on the program level, but there's no way those APCs survived several of those near misses unscathed. Especially the one there, he was less than 20 feet off. That 500 pounder would have annihilated that thing. The one Riddler seemingly bounced off his fuselage that then proceeded to land on target was pretty nifty though, lol. Because of that, I'm willing to go with sync/network issues instead of backend problems insofar as these indestructible APCs go, lol.... And then I just saw the one that the bomb scraped the paint off the bumper before it hit the ground. Yeah, there's an issue there. LMAO... Though I gotta say, the guys are pretty darn good.

Competitions like this should have a ticket price to participate. Then the non profit money would be used to buy the price for the winner. If not real life hardware, then something to the game. I would pay an euro or two to participate.

If the damage model is SUPER accurate, then the high level bombing acts like a mortar with a lower angle of splash especially tail detonation near those armoured targets the guys insides bells will be properly rung but the vehicle might survive those high angle splashes. if you dropped at a level angle forcing the bomb to drop at an angle rather than straight down into the mud, you could direct splash damage like a mortar at a low angle or battle ship guns or artillery. But I doubt thats modelled. IDK. there was only one exception around 1:13:00 where the thing would have blown up from overpressure alone.
