So I have to say. I enjoyed the mission, even though it was a bit longer than I expected to be. However, I had some issues. Alley Cat had a bit of an issue coordinating flights initially. We had a push order for a reason and before we were even done aligning, other jets were on the catapults that weren't even supposed to be there yet. (Also there was no stored heading alignment for the tomcats so it took 8 min to align but it could just be an A-model thing, idk) Our flight lead wasn't using their radios at all and we basically just left without them after getting permission because that person was just flying in random directions. After getting permission to go direct to the tanker, we get vectored west because we are about to go to Iranian airspace. Well whose fault is that, you cleared us direct. War Party arrived entirely too late to drop their jsows. Didn't matter overall because all the bandits had been taken care of, but slightly frustrating. Red Crown committed us to a bandit and then committed another flight to the bandit as well, resulting in two AIM-120s being shot over us by 100 feet then maneuvering down to the target. The 14A is a PITA. That is all. Overall, I enjoyed it, and would do it again. Some things to work out but it was fun. Looking forward to the next one! -Sundown 2-2

This kind reminds me playing the Battle of the Coral Sea back in Pacific Fighters. Using pure dead reckoning to fly for what seemed like hours hoping to find the enemy carrier fleet, the excitement and thrill of actually finding the fleet and attempting to put a bomb on target, and then navigating back to your own carrier hoping you had just enough fuel to get home. I sure miss the days before kids where I could take an entire afternoon and run those missions.

you know you can use the mids radio in the hornet, right? it has much better quality and range because it's digital. To use it assign radio 3 and 4 hotkeys in srs. To set it up press D/L, then VOCA/VOCB, hit a number for the channel and then enter. Don't press CLR or it will turn off the radio. If you want to get rid of the ICP display go to another option, like AP and hit CLR twice there to turn off the displays. MIDS radio is very good for intraflight because it's basically a free radio, keeping the standard ones free for common/gci, or even interflight (on VOCB) if it's lots of hornets.

There are lessons, and honestly downloading and reading the manual for F18 helps a lot. Plus just a lot of in game Instant Action Missions or just Creat your own mission and learn start up, radar, landing.. etc

@@jacepost1356 can happily say that 2 years later I’m comfortable providing air to air support in both the F18 and the F16. Moved to VTOL VR for the time being lately- just faster to jump into with my limited time. For anyone reading in the future, just keep practicing your favorite module and make sure you’re having fun learning what you want to learn!

Fucking love the quotes on that leading edge supplement site haha.: "I hate non alcoholic drinks, but this is pretty damn good. Also does pretty well combating a hangover." - Anthony, Pilot. Hope that guy is never my pilot.

This reminds me of IL-2 night mission when we bombed Berlin. about 1700 Km total distance, less that you guys but it took us many many hours because we were in Lancasters :))

Just discovered this game and this whole mission definitely contributed to mindblow me further, great job. What impressed me the most Is the whole voice transmission sound design..is it like that by default ingame or you used some third party software? I think the only turn off is the absolute silence and detachment from immersion when checking out the map, but I'm just splitting the hair in two

Looks like a super cool game. Just tell me something. How the heck do you learn all the on air lingo? Are there specific roles that are assigned? Like when you are taxing on the CAT on the carrier. Is there ATC roles? AS I heard them giving you the call out when to taxi and when to clear CAT launch. Thanks!

They are a part of the group, they probably have a class teaching the lingo ("read this pdf, etc...") Probably and just years of experience
