Gruner Veltliner is gaining popularity in the Finger Lakes in NY, USA. Many wineries are planting Austrian and Georgian varietals due to the similarity in climate to that of the Finger Lakes

Great to hear that! However, I am yet to taste Grüner Veltliner from a Finger Lakes! 🤞🤞🤞

Waiting for your new video. At first, GV tastes like a slightly spicy Pinot Grigio to me at a wine class. It was so refresh and impressive. I had drunken Wachau GV only. Thanks for introducing other great producers. Cheers!!

I just put a Malat in the fridge :) Pfaffl is usually my go to , its not that expensive and easy to find in supermarkets. Im very excited for the F.X. Pichler Unendlich Grüner Veltliner Smaragd. Maybe i will open it this summer when i grill some fish.

Plus for Malat. :-) I really like Malats Ried Ried Höhlgraben. Great minerality.

I am sorry to hear that. 🥺 Rudi Pichler is a great Austrian producer and not amongst the most expensive ones, F.X. Pichler usually dictates way higher prices. But it means I have to look further for more affordable suggestions’ 🙏🏻

The first time I ever had a GV was only about 6 years ago at a Vietnamese restaurant near the beach in Australia. As it was a hot summer night it was a match made in heaven, the flavours matched perfectly with the spice of the wine.
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
Yes! 🙌🙌🙌 GV for me is very versatile when it comes to food and I can imagine it complimenting traditional Vietnamese cuisine quite well! ✨💫

That is my mistake and bad wording. It should be more like: stone fruits like apricots and peaches. 😣

@@NoSediment Ok, thank you, studying for level two and I get confused by all the different stuff I hear that there's a lot of gray areas in the wine world. I can't wait to watch the burrow interview tonight. It's stunning the number of additive they're putting in California wines that just get me feeling ill sometimes. I hope you do more videos interviewing biodynamic, organic, non-certified organic wine. It seems there are many wineries that are organic, but not officially certified in the bureaucracy. It's dangerous turf to bring up the subject of all of the attitudes in California wines.

No need to apologize, we all like different things in wines. 🙌 But, that means You must spot it easily in the blind. Perfect, giving it is a difficult grape to go to. 🙌

As mentioned in this video, Grüner Veltliner comes in different styles. It took me some time to get to know which style I like. I'm not a fan of this grape when it is produced as a light-bodied, acidic easy-to-drink-wine, but as a Wachau Smaragd quality it's in a totally different league. A Grüner Veltliner Smaragd can age impressively and produce exotic fruit flavours in addition to honey and a creamy texture.
