The final part of the 850km hike across the Spanish Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, Hondarribia to Llanca. Deteriorating weather brings storms and strong winds as I head for the coast at the end of my hike.

Great and inspiring videos with amazing landscapes. This GR11 looks a lot tougher then the French GR10.

Thank you. I did the GR10 four years ago, which is tougher in the Basque area. Most of the rest has long up and down but not generally so rough underfoot and less scrambling. There are no official alternative routes on the GR11 if you want to avoid the rough parts. I also loved the GR10, despite poor weather and a heatwave. My GR10 vids are on YT if you are interested.

In 2009, 2010, 2011 we did large parts of the GR10, with the help of a luggage transfer company as we were then in our sixties and my wife has problems to carry a backpack. Cols like Hourquette d'Arre and Madamète were indeed easier than the ones you had to climb on the Spanish side. Although we did not connect our footsteps from Atlantic to Mediterrean, it was a great experience, especially the lonely and beautiful stages through Ariège. @@MinackerMovies

Yes, I was 64 for the GR10 and 68 for this one and felt the difference of four years.

A fabulous achievement. Well done. For what it's worth, the extra bit to the Cap is so so and I think you made a wise decision ending at Llanca. Now you can plan a new adventure if you're not already doing so!

Thanks for your warm comments. Not sure what is next, maybe something a bit shorter and easier on the knees?🤣 How about you?

Not a problem. I enjoyed watching your journey and reminicising on my own and seeing the familiar places. Was a bit confused regarding your route out of La Jonquera but guess that was due to weather. I'm gearing up for the Pyrenean Haute Route and am looking forward to 6 weeks away!!

Hi, thank you. It's a tough one, not a simple answer. The GR10 because it came first, but not such good weather and more mist. However, there was more wildlife and easy going access for camping etc. There are restrictions on wild camping and even swimming in some lakes and below 2000m in the Nat parks in Spain. The campsites in France are more civilized, less crowded and so is the trail for the most part. First and final sections of GR11 less interesting than GR10 IMO. Both really worth doing. Maybe a mix of the two? I believe the HRP accesses both sides in places? Enjoy.

@@MinackerMovies I saw that you had a GPS. Have you recorded the tracks of your route along the GR11? I'm planning to do it soon, and although I have the official tracks, I like to have the real tracks of the people who make it. I don't know if you can upload them to wikiloc, mapy or some similar system. And if you have waypoints for fountains, shelters, etc., that would be great, Greetings and thanks for your videos and information.
