I started with a pretty good commercial kit a few years ago. I upgraded some things. But I kept it to items that were expendable. Over here I carry a lot of stuff in my Jeep as well. Thank you for showing this bag to us, Joe. Stay safe and stay warm

We had a sizeable town centre fire a couple of years ago. A number of street were evacuated to a local theatre opposite the town hall. They stayed there for 2 nights until the area was made safe. In a scenario like this, the contents would work. Beds and bedding were made available for hundreds of people, who after a short time were fed etc. If there was a wild fire (like on the moors in Lancashire 18 months ago), or flooding like in Kendal in 2011 where people were evacuated to a local communal safe place for 2 or 3 nights, again "Scotland Kit" is great. You would naturally add your own personal meds, baby stuff, playing cards etc as you suggested.

I don't consider myself a prepper but I think everyone should be reasonably prepared, at least with common sense things and highly likely scenarios. Being prepared for a blackout is obviously the biggest no-brainer. Stock a couple of days worth of water and food, have some light sources handy. It's also a very good idea to have a bag of toiletries prepared in case you gotta leave quickly e.g. go to the hospital. Call it grab bag or whatever you want. Shouldn't be controversial.

Good video. During some power outages in the US I used a Kaito KA200 small FM/AM Band receiver radio. It worked great . And I noticed with Dorian Hurricane along thru Florida they were saying do bags with 7 days . That's different!!! In the past it was always 3 days.

Yeah it’s rough to say how many days worth to pack for. Depends if you have somewhere to go to really. Thanks for watching

Wow, feel bad for all those harsh regulations on knives etc. Knives, firearms, and the like are tools. Damn near anything can be used as a weapon if you are creative or determined. Bugout bags here in the USA are a whole other level.

You can’t carry any self defence stuff here as you might harm the attacker. 🤷🏼♂️ I think even the dye marker spray is a no no. Crazy.

You can carry non locking knifes that are under 3inches without reason in Scotland

Why no knife which is the most fundamental tool you will need? Food - I would chose MRE or tinned food. Not much good if you haven't got a knife or a mutitool to open the tin/packet with. No fire lighting means, so its cold canned food. Never mind I'll just be hungry and listen to the radio. Where do thse folk get their ideas from? As for warm clothes - I'll wear them (depending on the temperature). Either way a water proof jacket is a must. Yes, I agree with Mrs Pleasance.....don't forget a shovel.

Knives and such are illegal to carry here. Only 3in or less and non locking with good reason. Tough times but every pack is different. Take what you want. If I did an updated vid with all going on in 2020 it would be a different pack

great video problem with scotland is tho that u can be arrested for carrying a multitool because of scotland’s history with knife crime

Yeah they are cracking down down south Well. My leather man would be an illegal carry as well
@stuspawton5 жыл бұрын
@@prepperinthewoods Actually if you have the leatherman or multitool in a sheath inside the bag then its fine. You can carry a fixed blade knife on you as long as it is in a sheath.
@twotubefamily93234 жыл бұрын
stuspawton are you actually kidding ? In what part of uk legal carry dies it say a fixed blade is legal ? Seriously your advice will land someone in jail It’s illegal to: sell a knife to anyone under 18, unless it has a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less carry a knife in public without good reason, unless it has a folding blade with a cutting edge 3 inches long or less carry, buy or sell any type of banned knife use any knife in a threatening way (even a legal knife) Scotland In Scotland, 16 to 18 year olds are allowed to buy cutlery and kitchen knives. Lock knives Lock knives are not classed as folding knives and are illegal to carry in public without good reason. Lock knives: have blades that can be locked and refolded only by pressing a button can include multi-tool knives - tools that also contain other devices such as a screwdriver or can opener

@@twotubefamily9323 im sorry but i would not be paying attention to any of that if my survival is at risk and id like to think loads of normal folk that want to live would agree that if a situation occurs nobody is gonna stop an d say lets measure that knife incase we get caught with it,make sure its well hidden and make sure no one knows what u carry is my thinking

I read the article and all I can say is a lot of the comments in that report were made by some dumb people. On the upside these are less people we have to worry about in the Darwin stakes. Thanks for the video it was the first I'd heard of this.
