I love Grace Jones. I remember her from the 80's, when she came out with that big hit pull up to my bumper. That was a incredible song and a big hit for Grace, even though me and my friends would argue over if she was a man or a woman, I did not care. I loved her music and her style. She was one of a kind! Thanks Grace!!

A nice NORMAL interview with Grace. Behaving herself totally in front of her mother and not putting on her more USUAL "public face". It's nice to know that she's really in control and CAN "turn it off" when/as needed! Adore Grace, and it was nice that they included her mother in part of the interview.

I must applaud Grace Jones on how she's working that hat. It's quite chic. But she's always had lots of style. What I'm really wondering, however, is this video really from 2010? Grace is now in her 60s and I recall seeing her in another interview and, while still quite chic, she didn't quite look like the supermodel she once was. Unless it's the lighting, she almost looks like she lost 30 years!! If it's from 2010 and she's looking this good, more power to her.

TheSeductiveArts I still see lots of hat-wearing women going into church. I love wearing them myself. Maybe it's just certain churches where this occurs; I just don't know for sure.
@malindayoungblood409 жыл бұрын
Dang I know this response is old and I am so sorry. The answer to your question is this, and I can only speak on behalf of the African American community. In biblical times the women would have to cover their head when they went to temple to pray. Also we look at our hats as a crown when we wear them. Last but not least we like to look good. A clean hat ,and outfit can make a person feel confident, and look dam good wearing it because weather what people think bad or good we are still being noticed.
@annmariebusu99249 жыл бұрын
+Blazer Riss mostly older people wear hats for the reasons he/she stated above. the younger crowd not into it. we are also supposed to sit at the back at that time of month in some churches too :). my mom wears a hat. I don't. She wears it for fashion though. my grandma wore it as a must.

And it also African American culture...slaves always worked everyday and wore rags...so when Sunday or church time came they wanted to look different...many people don't feel dressed without a hat.

She is BARKING mad. An identity problem. Interviewed on U.S. television she has this strange American accent...and the accents travels with her !! She just cannot identify herself, and neither can anyone else on this planet. She is a lost void....a vortex with a corridor of infinity. A soul 'snipped' in space !!
@fuckyou14589 жыл бұрын
Prolinium Well when you speak 5 fluent languages and do interviews all over the world you might expect an accent differentiation from time to time
@bbbbbbbbbb08 жыл бұрын
People who are bilingual/speak a few languages tend to have mixed or rather ambiguous accents. She speaks 5. And she's not mad, but YOU sound mad in your stupid comment.

Prolinium she speaks multiple languages and has lived abroad for years. Overtime it happens. Tina Turner moved to Europe and never came back, in her 70s nearly 25+ years later she has a slight accent. It happens. Travel, live elsewhere for decades and see how yours changes too perhaps.

Theres a book called "Crowns" Portraits of Black Women in church hats. As well as a Movie based on the book. Its a must see... or have. Its a bible verse... 1 Corinthians 11:15 "But every woman that prayeth or propheseith with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head."
