Slave to the Rhythm is my favourite album. Production by Trevor Horn was excellent, but for me Grace is unique, she stands alone as a recording artist, a performance artist, a genius! And who else would have the courage to even try to keep a hula hoop up during the Jubilee concert.....

i well aware of the differences between underground vs mainstream----i can tell you were not part of the disco era, simply beacause if you were, you would have known that "disco" music for the most part was considered undergound-----the success of "Saturday Night Fever" propelled disco from the underground to the mainstream literally over night..jones got the label of "undergound" simply because her style of music never really crossed over to the mainstrem, despite being heavily promoted

you still havent proven to me how she is underrated....her music was popular in the discos/clubs in the late 70s early 80s...shes never had a major pop hit, something all artists dream of, whether they are considered performance artists or not...jones can say what she wants about gaga----the only similarities they share are their outrageous styles, and thier club oriented brand of music....just because an artist has an outrageuous style, doesnt mean he/she copied jones, madonna or anyone else,

LOL, dont have to--but evidently you do----her first 3 albums, "Portfolio", "Fame", and "Muse", (i have all 3) were all part of a disco trilogy....her biggest pop hit, #77 pop, was a #1 disco smash called "i need a man" ...she is and was, considered a disco artist----thats were she had her biggest success---and i might add, accrodng to her bio, shes a "Jamaican singer, model and actress"...do YOUR homework.....DUDE

The Ramones style of music was never in the pop vein, Jone's music was---- therefore, your comparison is laughable and rather nieve.....Graces music was "disco" which was a VERY popular style of pop music in the mid to late 70s--her record label would have love for her to crossover to the mainstream pop charts, and she almost did...but never quite made it..The Ramones were never in any way considered a pop band, nor did they want to be...they were at complete opposite ends of the music spectrum
