Some things you might have missed if u weren’t paying attention 1. Grace Ping is in Seventh Grade 2. From the time she starts to the time she finishes she is in Seventh Grade the whole time 3. The girl who won the race was in seventh grade 4. She beat girls who are older than 7th graders 5. And last BUT NOT least the announcer makes gReaT ciRCleS(oh and Grace Ping is in seventh grade) You are welcome

Caroline Cushing also Grace Ping is a “future stud” (ie 7th grader) who is beating straight up “studs” (12th graders)!
@Darr247
@Darr247 4 жыл бұрын
You apparently missed that her and Pendergast are studs, too... and the software is circularizing his points, when he manages to connect the end to the beginning... when he doesn't, it leaves them as he drew them. Oh, and 7th grader Grace Ping is likely a junior or senior by now.

Jaylyn loves beebo it’s kinda mean to that he keeps doing that, but think it’s a 7th grader beating a senior. Plus she ran a 18 minutes 5k which is extremely good for a 7th grade girl. So I see why it’s upsetting, but if you actually understand how crazy what Grace Ping did is it makes sense why he is so hyped up about it. Also, it’s his first time seeing her run so that makes it even crazier for him.

Since this was 2016, here's the update: By 2019, her family had moved to Arizona, and she and her younger sister Lauren, as a high school freshman, were regularly placing 1st and 2nd in high school races in Arizona, at ages 16 and 14. They were students at Desert Vista High School Having an injury during the 2019 season, she placed 30th in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championship race in San Diego in December 2019. According to MileSplitUSA, she has committed to attend Oklahoma State University after she will graduate from high school in 2021.

She never beat her times from seventh grade (at least not in the longer distance, her mile pr is from freshman year). Even as a collegian she hasn’t come close. Can we stop propping up these young talents as “the next big thing”. Let people grow and run naturally. I never broke six in the mile in middle school and went under 4:10 in college.

Do not assume my friend or try to predict, because clearly you might be wrong. By the way, it takes will power to continue and she probably had a lot, it is not always based on physical strength, an example it Mike Tyson.. do you know how many times he has beaten people much larger than him? What is truly amazing is that the girl they initially ID as Emily Covert, the early leader, is blond wearing blue with red piping; they don't even notice as she falls off the pace & a redhead wearing black & orange moves up! By the way, this girl-who may or may not be Emily Covert-finishes in ~19:07 at the very end of the video 19:40.

Good race and very impressive run by Grace Ping, but the commentators were ill-prepared. They were almost 12 minutes into the race before the commentators figured out who had been in the lead two the whole time. And a lot of silence during the video could have been used to tell us when they hit the mile markers or Kilometer markers, so we could know their split times.

They said the first 1km time. They said when they hit the 3km. He was giving times the whole time just some were estimates if where they would be by a certain point in the race and he was close a few times.

my friend, we're in grade 8, runs 30+ km every day she's on a track team and she's NEVER missed a practice. if she's away, she gets her coach to tell her a workout and she runs on the treadmill in the hotel btw watch out for her in the 2020 olympics- Sadie Sigfstead, long distance (2000m)

She won't even make trials. I ran a 17:41 as a 7th grader, and I never got any attention, besides at nationals. Olympic runners were running low 17's at this age.

Good on Grace - that is an EXCELLENT time. I know courses are subjective, but they were talking up second place like she was the second coming, but she was was 9th in a mid west state meet the year before. Grace is going places I’m sure, but second place was not the stiffest competition against a phenom.

She’s still a good runner but she really dropped.. usually when you’re this good at such a young age it tends to take a toll on your body because of how fast you are running and how hard you may be training to run fast

Grace plays this win down as to not as big of a win as people make it out to be. I believe it to be the race that made Grace the star she is. The fact is, it has been watched over 4 million times is a big statement. Watched by every Cross Country Team in the nation, giving the youngest of runners hope and a dream. Giving courage to girls to run and make a difference. This is a big deal to so many. When you see a child so young, do something so big that only a few achieve in a life time, you must become a fan! To put in the effort and make the sacrifices, because you have a dream, is indeed living the dream!
