@@KassPaAttHava hoka has a very low heel drop compared to a lot of other running shoes. Having your Achilles tendon under that much compression and that little help might cause Achilles tendonapathy which could side line you for close to a year. I wouldn’t do it, but I’m not an expert. This came up randomly for me, shocked at the view count and have 0 doubts on it sky rocketing. Fair bloody play for not only sub 3 but for a WR. Running is a sport with so many avenues, in your case a history of high level competition and when that gets taken away its hard, the fact you have managed to claim something you sought after in a record, is truly inspiring

It is also common knowledge that worse runners have more to gain from using better shoes. This guy was a talented elite runner and he is still elite. It shows how much it means to have a good shoe.
@bluegreen333-g5r4 ай бұрын
@@johannaw2031 I'm an average runner and in terms of performance, for example, a carbon plated shoe is almost the same with a max cushioned one. The feeling of course is different. Things such as "carbon plated are not for slow runs", "cushioned not for fast run" for me is just marketing bullshit. :) Also, in terms of cheap and expensive shoes, for me there is a point from where there is no point for me to buy something more expensive. I had a novablast and also a superblast and the difference was so small that only if I was an elite runner 2-3 minutes for 5 miles would matter. 99% of us runners are just the average Joe who likes to run and 2-3-5 minutes are not important at all.

There's apparently at least one guy that has gone 2:31:52 in crocs (not Guinness certified). Also correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the 12-week period to to receive the guidelines for an application, which needs to be done before you actually make your attempt. Usually I believe they need to have a Guinness official at the actual event.
