Right on. I agree ver much. They always miss what he's trying to convey to us. As he is saying, we are first and foremost saved by grace through faith as a free gift of God, not of works les they boast. Then grace and faith produces good works ie keeping Gods moral Law comes naturally or automatically as the fruit of faith and love or grace. It wont be as a duty or obligations which can become tedious or impossible. Good works comes second after grace n faith for righteousness or our sanctifications. Good Works are the product of grace and faith. Faith without love or deeds/actions is dead. Thank you brother or sister.

It is in our Adamic nature to desire to follow a set of rules. In Matthew 22: 36-40, Jesus summed up Commandments 1-4 regarding God to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and spirit,” and He summed up the Commandments 5-10 regarding our relationship to our fellow man as “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus took the focus off our external appearance of obedience-and made the focus our hearts and intentions-not just our behaviors. The OT law is like kindergarten. With Jesus, the law is far more difficult: With Jesus, the law is love.

Jesus modified the 10 Commandments entirely in Matthew 22: 36-40. His law is love-for love of God and man must be at the heart of our actions: not merely the external appearance of obedience. No longer are we held accountable to following an external set of commands: We are now held accountable on a deeper level: We are now held accountable for our intentions in what we do; We are held accountable for our heart behind what we do. The law is like kindergarten for believers. We learn right and wrong, but Friend, we’ve got to graduate to real faith and obedience that Jesus taught, which far transcends following Old Testament law: Those whom we could legally stone under law, we must now love under grace. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us into Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3: 24-27

Grace cannot function idependent of law. No one goes to a police and beg for grace if he did not break a law. No one goes to a magistrate and beg for grace if he did not break a law. No one goes to a judge and begs for grace if hebdid not break a law.. So then since we are saved by grace ...then there is a lawcth adhere to. What law.. ...see Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 We are to keep that whole law . See James 2;10 - 12 Mathew 15:9 John 14:15. Revelation 22:14.
@timwhitmore725 күн бұрын
Grace cannot function concurrently with the law, else it is no longer grace. Can’t you see that being under the law means being under condemnation, by your own logic. Paul clearly points out being under grace is not lawlessness, but it does mean being without the written law of Moses. We are joined to Christ through the Spirit, not just set free from the law to live like the world, but unto God. As well as most of the New Testament, do you also ignore the book of Acts? The apostles clearly outline the only 4 commandments believers in Christ are to adhere to. The command to love God and others covers many of core instructions in the law of Moses anyway.

Satan was referring to himself as being God Isaiah 14:13-14, 2 Thessalonians 2:4. Satan knew Eve would be thinking on ELOHIM, adam spoke of. But Satan was speaking of himself when saying god knows you will be as god.... If God is good and Evil, instead of ONLY BEINF GOOD but uses Evil, uses Satan,; is God the ONE OF us knowing good and evil? Or is the One of Us or among us Satan who knows both good and Evil? Will there be Evil in Heaven that man is become like US, or man is become like one of us? Who's the one of us? God is very able to say man has become like us knowing good and evil, instead it reads, "like one of us"

John 14:15, John 14:21, John 15:10 all state the words of Jesus. "If you love me keep my Commandments" Why does Paul contradict Jesus... Well he doesn't! And here is the fact. Moses didn't make 10 rules... God's finger wrote it and gave Moses the 10 Commandments. The "handwriting" that was against us. Did moses write the 10 Commandments? Jesus came as the "Lamb" of God to die for us. He came to fulfil the Levitical laws that pointed to Him as the Messiah. It was like a rehearsal that the people might see Jesus as the "Lamb" Moses wrote all those laws and placed it in the "side" of the arc of the covenant The 10 commandments are the very reason why the arc was called the "Covenant" It was written by the "Finger of God."...not moses. Exodus 31:18 So... Paul does not contradict Jesus. If grace is above the 10 Commandments and we don't need to keep if anymore... Try killing someone... You'll get 25 years of grace. ... In the same way all of the 10 Commandments are still a crucial part of Love to God and love towards our neighbour.
@mahinat.coover89728 ай бұрын
Yes thats true. BUT OR AND Jesus sums it in one word, LOVE. Love covers all righteousness and the law. Love God with all our hearts and love our neighbors. Upon it, all the laws and prophets hung and fullfilled. When you love God, you live righteously and not sin against God by going against or breaking His laws. When you have the love of God you wont do anything unrighteous to your neighbor and anyone. You would do righteous by anyone and all people. Thats faith in action and righteousness obtained by faith. So agape love contains all the law of GOD. We are to keep the Laws of both God and the Land. Keeping Gods law keeps us sanctified and holy, but salvation by righteousness is only achieved by the grace of God through faith. WE are saved by believing, having faith in the LORD JESUS. Then faith provides work. When you believe and have faith then and only then you are able to keep the Laws out of love and holy reverence for a loving God and not out of duty and obligations....which is tedious....keeping the laws out of moral obligations has no power to keep us from committing it. We willl fall or give in from time to time some to stealing, lying, adultery etc because its not kept out of love by the power of the Holy Spirit. Sin is always near but loving God enables us to have the power to resist temptation through the power of the Holy Spirit. So keep the Law out of love not out of obligation or duty for righteousbess or its impossible to stay righteous and holy before God because the flesh war against us continually. The Law is meant to remind us what sin is and faith and love enables us to keep it for righteousness and sanctifications and Holiness before Holy God.... Amen. We do keep the Law but through the help of the Holy Spirit. Its impossible with out HIM. Its impossible to walk and live righteously without the Holy Spirit of God in us. I for one falls here n there when im out of the walk in the Spirit

I think he is a bit off here. He will sometimes essentially say that faith is the same as believing certain facts. That’s not what faith is.
@bluemeadows75202 жыл бұрын
Then what is faith
@ibperson77652 жыл бұрын
@@bluemeadows7520 Faith is notoriously hard to define. It is along the lines of keeping in mind that which we know, or that which we believe. AW Tozer calls it “the gaze of a soul upon a saving God”. This is because he calls belief in Christ a type of looking at a truth that is put inside of us. “As Moses raised the serpent so must the Son of man..”. Hence the phrase “Believe *on* the Lord”. But we can forget the God, ie look away. I can believe certain facts but never keep them in mind and forget to decide based on them. To remember and behave according to what I believe despite my temporary feelings may be one definition. It’s an active and present and palpable belief in God, not just a theoretical one. The Bible calls it “the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen”. One thing faith is not, in the Bible, nor anyone or anytime in Christian history: believing something without evidence and/or for no reason and/or irrationally. Atheists say that all the time, but it’s not what faith is. They themselves don’t even use it that way “I have faith in that guy [or machine or team] etc”
@PierreLabounty Жыл бұрын
I make a division too. Perhaps because belief to me is about things, faith is best described as n a person. I can believe all kinds of things about a person,; and still be compromised in my faith In a person I only know about. But I know what Derek means. Its a matter of definition. But I do not quibble about words overmuch. Because belief in the person themselves can equate to the same thing as faith for people..perhaps also from the epistemology of objective belief, and subjective trust. Obviously we would want both. I love his teaching. Great help for me as well. I has helped me spiritually both ways. He is such a good teacher. Everyone could profit greatly. We used to talk about only having head knowledge. We tend to believe what we think we know, which is normal. But as with Tozer and Derek there is as is said knowledge of the heart. That comes through a more personal knowledge through the Holy Spirit of Christ in our lives, and of course now, our Heavenly Father. Praise God in Christ through the Holy Spirit. And we now can know the Author. Heavens and earth will pass,away; but His word endures forever. Hello Family of Christ!
