I honestly don’t know what I would do without your videos! We’re on our first year homeschooling and did teaching textbooks. My daughter and I are not fans and I had no idea what to do for next year so this couldn’t have come at a better time! Such good info for me to think about for the kids curriculum next year. One more question- you’ve mentioned talking to your kids about illegal drugs use. I’m struggling with navigating this topic and it’s SO important to me. My brother died of a drug overdose in 2009, one grand dad was an alcoholic, my husband’s grandfather was an alcoholic that ended his own life. I really want to tackle these topics, and I need guidance. It wasn’t done for me (other than the dare-just say no campaign in school in the 90s). I’d LOVE a video on how you do this, resources you use, what type of language you use, etc. 💜

I never thought I'd change curriculum halfway through our school year but we started doing Saxon 5/4 with my oldest son and he had so much trouble with it because it involves so much writing this year. I decided to make the switch to simply good and beautiful math with him and our daughter after hearing such good things about it from you and others. My son is gifted with math but was diagnosed with dysgraphia this past month which has to do with transcription. Hoping this new curriculum works for us!

These are my favorite kind of videos! I loveeeee curricula haha. I use TT as “homework” for the kiddos so they do one lesson a day in addition to their TGATB lesson but not because I think TGATB is lacking but like you- have multiple littles that I am homeschooling and sometimes I need to engage them in an independent activity while I work 1:1. I got wordly wise for next year also as well as easy grammar and hwot. I plan to just sort of rotate through those as independent review while I work 1:1 with them in TGATB language arts. TGATB makes it so much easier for swap hats so frequently. Love love love

I’m using Horizons for my son (first grade) for math. The number of problems IS daunting. He’s very strong mathematically, and I do think he’s doing well with it, but it seems very boring. I do like how easy it is to use and he can do most of each lesson on his own, so that’s nice. But, I’m worried he’s going to go from loving math to being bored with it. Your reviews are very helpful!! LOVE TGTB LA so much! I may have to try their math next year.

Hi mamas and Ashley I sure love you! For bible this year we are using the church for all nations app it’s free from my church it’s a light blue icon with white lettering. The kids button on the bottom then you pick a series (we are doing the hidden crown right now which is so fun boldly go 2 is also a fav if you get a chance to check it out) and We download the parent guide (I print one for each of my kiddos) and explore use that as our guide for the week. We do quiet time, scripture memory, and a do the parent guide through the week on Wednesdays we watch the episode and watching the episodes are such a treat for my little ones. I like being able to incorporate the lesson we are doing with church into our daily bible time it also is great because they pick my scripture to memorize which is kinda cool. My kiddos get a reword at church when they come with the verse memorized so it’s a win win win.

I know each state’s laws are different, but do you think you’ll continue the traditional trajectory of science for your kids throughout high school? I’m kind of struggling with what I’m going to do for my 8th grade son when he starts high school in the fall. Chances are he will not be pursuing anything in science beyond high school, but I don’t think it would be bad to continue on the traditional trajectory for science in homeschool, especially when it comes to college transcripts if he ends up going that route.

Two questions today. First, I know you have been using the missionary books for a while but I don't remember how you do that. Like do you just read through and talk about it or do you have activities/sheets that you do to reinforce the material? Secondly, is there a scope of practice that you follow for what to teach which years? I am pretty confident for scope of practice for my youngest moving forward. However, I am worried I will miss something for my 7th-grader. And I know each state has guidelines but I feel that's hard to really understand for my state.

Ashlee, it’s not Mexican heritage for Spanish. It’s Latin American heritage. So many other Spanish speaking countries other than Mexico. Or is this exclusively a Mexican Spanish curriculum because depending on the Latin American country Spanish words do differ a bit? I am Mexican American and I’m looking for a Spanish curriculum that is closest to our Spanish.

This is a Mexican Spanish curriculum. It does touch on different Spanish speaking cultures etc. but this is the “version” of Spanish you’d find spoken in Mexico.

@@GraceandGrit if you don’t do POM 2 you may want to look into Shorman pre algebra now available or Saxon math with dive(Dr.Shorman teaching in shorter videos/cds) for 7/6. Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Happy and blessed Friday! Thank for sharing. Your videos a very helpful and informative. Quick question. How do you know which subjects your high school student needs and how many credits/ years of certain subjects are required? Thank you in advance.

Does anyone have any suggestions for online math? My kids did teaching textbooks this year and it was OK but, I think they need more help.

Really liked this video. Very informative. 2 questions… when do you advise starting to prep for HS? I have a 6th grader. Not sure when to start looking toward HS courses. Next question… when do you wish you would have switched from TT to Shorman (sp?) Math?

Ashley! Quick question- was the lab kit worth it?
@GraceandGrit
@GraceandGrit 2 жыл бұрын
Expensive. Yes. But so necessary for them to be able to actually do the labs. I found the amount and randomness of the items to be too overwhelming for me to try to collect on my own
