I have always felt bad for Saul. When compared to everything David would do against his fellow Israelites and God I feel like Saul got the book thrown at him and David got a lot of leniency. I mean a lot of leniency! Even in todays world and in history I cannot figure out why God gives blessings and preference to certain people and not to others.

The reason why God started to reject King Saul was that when God Commanded and told him to do something then Saul will go and do The opposite of what God Commanded. Case in point ? God made King Saul a King and also a Prophet too ! But King Saul wanted to get into The Priesthood which that God didn't call call him for the Priesthood because that Priesthood setup was for The House of Levi. But Saul wanted to take over the Priesthood which was a no no ! So God started to reject King Saul and God started to make plans to anoint David later on to be The King of Israel and God told Samuel The Prophet to go to anoint one of Jesse sons which was going to be David who was the Youngest son.

Saul was possessed by a spirit or demon that harmed him, thats why David is hired to play his instrument for him - it soothes him in his pains. But later on when the ppl start to talk well of David Saul start to persecute David. The wee shepherd tries to prove to Saul that he is not his enemy but a friend and at one time Saul start to cry over this. I think Saul understood that he was possessed and not always in control of thoughts and actions. Oh and hi was also one head or head and shoulder taller than the rest of the Jews- that might indicate an unclean soul that the fallen angels have produced - the first ones shaped giants. I wonder if David himself got spared from possession of unclean souls and demons. I think not - they seem to plot their way into world dominon (hope Im wrong). A look that some one aided by holy spirit might have. The light int he eye though... some ppl gaining a nose that the children suffering from Progeria syndrome have also have very clear eyes, almost a light in them.
