The most thought provoking verse in this for me is 1 Samuel 28:15 ... Now Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” It's interesting that it doesn't say something like, "and the Lord spoke in Samuel's stead". I suppose this reinforces my idea that that witchcraft and sorcery have actual power. All the more reason to steer clear from all of that and to stay strong in the Lord.

The only reference in the Bible of Enoch is a mention and a judgement "he was not" if I remember correctly and if any book is written on this it's not certain for us to know who wrote it or what it is if they're talking about witchcraft and in that sense you bring up that book is bleek.

Today the story seems harsh but their is an underlying story. Their was not supposed to be a king. The Lord is our king. When your mind has bad thoughts you can keep them and use them or throw them away. You kill the thought you do not desire. God promised the land to his people. He said I will clear the land for you. Symbolically God is telling the people to get rid of people who think and act contrary to Gods plan of salvation. The goods that were taken were manifested by bad thought. God needs the people to look after the land so that the thought becomes Holy. The king fails to understand or stay connected to God in his thoughts. God pulls back and allows the worlds bad thoughts to attack the king. He becomes paranoid. Because we are weak we need a focal point. Often today we expect others to stand up for us without our support. We say its their job. Then no one bothers. We watch the bully without interrupting. We vote in corrupt officials. Lazy. Stand together as a people.

From what I understand, God allowed an evil spirit to come over Saul because the Lord had departed from him because of his disobedience...Once the Lord departed, the evil spirit came and tortured Saul for his remaining days..

Weren't the Kings ,or Most of them Lacking Faith ,not following the law in Most cases, Disobedient to The Only True God, Take King Solomon for example? Was Given Wisdom from His God But fell, losing His Gods favor later in life. But it does Teach us dose it not That we Need The Fruitages of Gods HOLY Spirit, in our Lives to Develop them,Galations 5:22,23 then With the Help of his Spirit ,asking him for each Quality, we cant Develop them in our own Strength Because of our Imperfections, dont you Think??
