@@irene9263 Oh sweet Irene! No it doesn't mean that. God loves you just as you are. The hard part about prayer, to me, over the years, it took a great deal of time for me to understand that God ALWAYS hears our prayers, but the right answer is not always the one that we want to hear. There are many prayers that were answered they way I was hoping, but there were also prayers that I hoped for one answer, but I got another one. The key to all answers is that God knows what we need and when we need it. It just doesn't always feel good. A perfect example was my pastor and his family. He's one of the most Godly men I've ever known. His 4 boys were some of the finest young men that I'd ever known. One of the middle boys was diagnosed with cancer, I think it was sinus cancer. He went through all the the treatments and was pronounced cancer free. He finished collage and began his career, went to Africa on missions trips. He was truly a remarkable young man. Then it came back. He and his girlfriend decided to get married even though they knew he was going to die. They had been married less than a year before he died. I bring that story up to be honest with you. We don't always know the reasons why our prayers don't get answered the way we think they should. It doesn't mean that God doesn't love us. Heaven only knows, there's not another family around that was more faithful to God than my pastor and his family were, and still are... It's just that God had another plan. A better plan. Unfortunately, there's just not enough room here to tell the whole story, or to fully explain what I'm trying to convey to you. But when that happens, we must know (this is called faith) that when God doesn't answer our prayers the way that we hope He will, it doesn't mean that He doesn't love us or that He that He doesn't care. He loves us unconditionally! I've been a Christian for 50 years. I'm not a pastor, I'm not a thealogin, and I sure don't have all the answers! In fact, no one does, and if you find someone that says they do, you better turn around and run! The truth is, just pray to Him from your heart! Tell Him that you need Him, that you want Him to forgive you for your sins, and that you want Him to come live in your heart. I know that this isn't really what you asked, but the point behind all of this, is for you to know that He loves you just the way that you are. You don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops trying to get to where you think you should be before you can be one of His children! God always meets us where we are! Not where we think we should be! There's nothing that you have to "do" in order for you to be able to pray to Him! And Irene, above all else... NEVER forget that He LOVES you! He created you! I'm so sorry that this is so long, but I wanted you to know that someone thought enough of you to take the time to try to answer your question...
