Graceful Chiredzi and Triangle towns / Sugar Industry / White Gold / Masvingo Province / Zimbabwe

Chiredzi is a small town in Masvingo province in south-east Zimbabwe. It is close to Triangle another sugar town. Lets take a tour

Grew up in Chiredzi , it has always been green and lush.... I'm now in my late 40s and it's still lush, just as I remembered it.

Yes it is beautifull & sugar grows really tall & well. Even during the winter the canals feed the cane..... The small old mill was started during the early fifties by The Late Murray Mac Dougal who came up from Natal & started the plantations here with 3 sticks of cane .Hence the name.

Another nice video. Unfortunately these towns are now a shadow of their former glory. We have not been good at maintaining the infrastructure and improving it. The warm weather in that part of the country is always a shock for northerners.

Thank you so much for showing us these places. Why dont you show us where people stay? For example in Chiredzi we wanted to have a feel of Tshovane location. We hear a lot about Chigarapasi drinking spot. We want to know as much as possible. Show us where "people" stay...... In Bindura show us Chipadze In Chinhoi show us Chikohono In Mutare show us Sakubva In Kwekwe show us Mbizo

Wow. It seems the agricultural based towns are doing well. Marondera and Triangle and Chiredzi are not very different. Shurugwi is story we may not want to talk about. The Lowveld towns need a few touch ups to problems which I think are politically caused. Paint, pavements and road fixing. They are minor improvements needed.

Man you should have seen those places in the 1970s: they are now dumps in comparison. Decaying roads, potholes, faded stained buildings, cracked pavements. No new buildings of any size in 50 years.

Sorry guys for being negative, but the towns if you want to call them that look so 1970, even the road. The problem in my opinion is centralized gvt, those 2 companies pay all taxes to central gvt and very little local tax. Same problem with the soon to established Lucerne farm. The deal was made in Hre, u only get to know of it when it is time to relocate
