@ANGELFLY39 I wouldn't but if you do, it would act as a mild chemical peel. I mean, I "have" but it's not recommended unless you know how your skin can tolerate it. I just peel for a couple days and then I'm good to go. But mixing acids w retinols or retinals isnt really recommend for most. But I learned about it from a Dr. 🤗

As a 43 year old man who has tried Medik8 crystal retinal 3 and 6 I can attest that this stuff is on another level. Even with the lower strength 3 my skin never looked better, forehead lines disappeared and my skin looked better than ever. Only downside is its quite expensive.

@Dee I started on the 3 strength and used it 2 to 3 times a week for the first few weeks gradually building up to every other night. I have never used it every night as I was getting results without needing to. After using 1 bottle of strength 3 for a few months I upped to strength 6. I don't feel the need to go any higher as I was getting excellent results even with the 3.

That's a great point. Thanks for that feedback. I should probably specify it's a HG in a particular category...for example the Dermelect is a HG exfoliating serum.....well it's also my favorite of ALL my serums overall if I could only pick one. Others would be for example a HG oil cleanser or HG retinal or HG growth factor product or HG concealer etc etc. Hope that makes better sense. Now I may say "one of my absolute faves" meaning I have a few faves but as far as HG, I mean usually just one in each category 💜

I am 58 and have a very good complexion. This is what I have found to be true. Your lipid barrier has to be very strong and healthy to have radiant skin with a high glow. You can acheive a very strong, healthy lipid barrier by using a good quality chemical exfoliant on a regular basis. Once you acheive this status (strong lipid barrier) you can pretty much use anything on your skin and it will always look great. The maintenance will be very minimal. You can just cleanse once a day (I do it only in the morning) and use any old moisturizer. Nothing will irritate my skin at this point, because my outer barrier is so strong and healthy. This is crucial.

May I know the name of the chemical exfoliant ?
@blitzkrieg6872
@blitzkrieg6872 Жыл бұрын
Well, of course and I am very flattered that you have asked me this question. There are so many great ones out there, but I personally use "Exuviance Radiance Serum". Formerly known as "Vespera Bionic Serum". The reason why I love this product so much is because it offers a very gentle, continual exfoliating process. It contains poly-hydroxy acids which are gentle. It also contains mandelic acid and a bunch of other anti-oxidants and the base of it is glycerin. The glycerin makes your face very shiny and glowy and therefore, this is my "make-up". I do not wear any foundation at all. Don't need it. I have nothing to conceal. That is because I have been using chemical exfoliants for YEARS. There is also a terrific product by a line called "Reviva". It's a 10 per cent glycolic acid cream. Glycolic acid is made from pure sugar cane. It's a very good and effective chemical exfoliant. As I said, there are many good chemical exfoliants out there and it is really not about the "brand". It's about the ingredient that is used for the exfoliation process (taking off the dead layer of skin) and at the same time stimulating the growth of new collagen. So, I am a mountain hiker/trail runner and I never wear a hat. I have had a TON of sun exposure due to my lifestyle, beach, outdoors, etc. Yet, at 58, I don't have any sun damage. No melasma. Not even a freckle. This is all because of continually using good serums with chemical exfoliants for years and years and thus having a very strong and healthy lipid barrier. Hope this has helped you.

You DO NOT need to wash your hair twice! That is a marketing ploy by the shampoo companies. They had a contest on how to sell more shampoo. The person that won the contest said put shampoo, repeat on your bottles. Learned this in college marketing.
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri Жыл бұрын
Oh wow. I never actually heard to do that from a shampoo or marketing company I used to just wash once then rinse. But then came dry shampoo and hairspray LOL...plus I oil my scalp before I cleanse so I always wash my scalp twice to properly remove the build up....if not, my hair doesn't get fully clean. But I'm sure if I didn't use product or oil, once is more than enough. Thanks for sharing that about marketing too. I believe it. They always come up with ways to make more money. Super interesting 🤗
@leah-7011
@leah-7011 Жыл бұрын
Most hair professionals actually recommend washing twice. If you wash once, with a good quality shampoo, you'll notice you don't get many suds. That's because the shampoo is breaking down the oils in your hair. When you wash the second time, there are more suds. This also ensures that your wash days last longer, meaning you can go longer in between washes. So in the end, it actually saves you money on shampoo because you don't have to wash as often.

Hi Sheri. So happy to see another video!! How do I compare this Medik8 to TT retinol? I bought the TT per your recommendation and I love it! I mix it with another serum or moisturizer and it feels very soothing to my skin. Thanks!
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri Жыл бұрын
Hi there! The TT is fantastic as well and an absolute fave but I like it best 2x a week more as an intense treatment. I can't use it nightly. This retinAL serum is super potent but still quite gentle as it won't cause irritation and can be used nightly once you work up to your correct dosage. You can also use this Medik8 RetinAL during the day vs at night since it isn't sun sensitive the way retinOL is. Just wear a sunscreen. Hope that helps. 🤗

I’ve missed you! New phone and for some reason u weren’t on my subscriptions list. I so trust your advice. My dermatologist moved away. Was only using 0.025 (had used higher- long story). Thought about Agency then your video on exfoliating popped up. Yay! With my Retin A - because of my very dry eye- I was doing the method where I leave it on for like 6 hours in the evening and wash off before bed- there is a name for this method but avoids getting it in my eyes and supposedly it works. Maybe I’ll try Medik 8 Retinal but washing off routine might not work. Does it sink in quickly?

This video spoke to me...sometimes I just need to take off the makeup and I want to crawl in bed....not often, but still. The Medik8 sounds like the answer to me. I stopped using Agency (Retin A) at the beginning of January - I just got tired of the flakes - and switched to PTR Retinol. So far so good - we'll see, but I have to check out this product. Thanks for the infor.

Hi Marcelle, This retinal can. Of course I doubt it will make them completely go away if they are deep. Yes I use TNS about 5 days a week 1st thing after cleansing my face. It's also 20% off right now with the link in description box. The sale ends tonight though. What color is your Dermelect serum? It should be clear and doesn't really have a scent...maybe a slight medicinal scent. People who said they got it on ebay or IPSY, Birchbox, Allure etc INSTEAD of buying from Dermelect directly are complaining of their serum being a weird brown color and having a funky scent. I would ONLY buy it from the company directly. It's old and oxidized if it smells and is brown. I wouldn't use it. 🤗

I've been using the new Medik8 20 strenght for a few months, zero irritation ! but I've been using retinol for a couple of years so my skin is used to it I guess. Yes, I still do use TT about 2 nights a week. I didn't want to explain all that in the video since it would confuse some people or overwhelm people who were new to my videos BUT since you're already familiar with the TT retinol.....just skip 2 nights of the Medik8 or whatever nightly retinol retinal or retioid you use and use the TT in place of it (or use the TT only once every 10 nights if you arent well adjusted to it yet). You can also use the Medik8 during the day since it's not sun sensitive like RETINOL. But I also didn't want to freak people out with that info and then I didn't want to go on my rant about sunscreen and make the video 30 minutes long LOL 🤪 So I figured I'd just make it a simple lazy girl p.m. skincare routine and leave all the extra details for a later video...BUTTT since you asked, hope that helps clarify 🤗💜
