5 months of using the Avene has resulted in dramatic results for the skin on my face, neck and chest. My chest had a lot of texture from sun damage (yay 20's lol) and this product smoothed the texture so well with minimal irritation when I started (I used every other night until I could easily use it nightly with zero irritation). Thank you so much for sharing this product with your audience - it is a huge game changer.

How long did it take you to see a difference? I have been using both the Avene 1.0 and eye cream since July and have had no change in my skin. I took before pictures and compare them weekly and they look exactly the same. I am feeling so discouraged but hope that maybe it is just taking time.

@@kaymccormick5700 I noticed subtle changes in the last few weeks on my face (eye wrinkles diminished and smoother skin texture) and my chest started to improve around 6 weeks and continues to do so with use. I don't know if it is an additive effect, but I also started using a vitamin C serum in the mornings at the same time. That helped a lot with dullness - perhaps its the combination of the two added to my routine that's leading to visible results. I wish I would have taken photos, but I'm not great with the phone camera and not sure if I could capture the improvement of texture - but its definitely noticable in real life.

I love your videos, I used retine A for the last 30 years I used it because I had bad acne when I was teenager now that I'm older (49 years old) and my skin is fantastic. My skin is used to retin-A and that I can use it on my chest, neck and hand without irritation. Now I use it at night (retin A) and I wait 30 minutes to absorb and I use resverastrol the ordinary and q10 (Eucerin), for the eyes I use q10 eucerin then retin-A (small quantity). Minimum 1 hour before the bed. In the morning I use niacinamide (The Good Molecules)and SOD (superoxide dismutase the ordinary) and then sun screen. This skin routine can sound irrititared for the skin, but my skin tolerate very well. I don't have wrinkles, crow's feet and dark spots My skin is incredibly smooth (juicy). After watching your video I bought the LED qure mask (qure) and it's incredible how well my skin is. I don't like use Vit C.Thanks to your video and all the info you have given.

Thanks for the video. I’m a big fan of Geek&Gorgeous. They have the A game 5 and A Game 10 with respectively 0,05 and 0,1% retinaldehyde for a good price : 12,50€ and 18,50€. Less expensive than Avene for the same quantity retinaldehyde. Maybe you have shipping costs for the USA but in Europe as from 45€ purchase , the shipping is free. Would definitely recommend.

A lot of people swear by Maelove Moonlight, but it wasn't my favorite. I didn't love the scent and there are frankly just too many oil extracts in it, many in the citrus family. Retinoids are potentially irritating enough without throwing all that into the mix. The Avene is definitely more expensive, but there are fewer potential side effects and the packaging is superior (though the slip leaves something to be desired). The Geek & Gorgeous A-Game line is also much more affordable and has a simpler but still effective formulation, but to get it shipped over the free shipping threshold from Hungary is really difficult. When it comes to the Avene retinal eye cream, Beauty of Joseon just came out with a super-elegant one at a fraction of the price for double the volume. For a future review, I'd love to see you do Maelove's new Fade Away brightening serum. Thanks, doc!

I know from DNA testing that I have a zinc transporter deficit, for example, and that my son has a vitamin D transporter deficit. My friend cannot efficiently convert the precursors of Omega-3 into the needed long-chain fatty acids... Many people have similar deficits with converting precursors of useable vitamin A (retinol) to the active form... So I am wondering if those individuals would benefit from retinaldehyde more than those who can convert readily. Know your body, save money?

The dermatologist last week suggested a similar Avene product, but in Europe there's only one version (0.1 %). Makes me a bit worried because I asked for a retinol (have big pores, hormonal acne and scars, and fine lines). I have a sensitive skin. She said apply it every night, but that seems a bit harsh to start with? She said to skip the neck area though, although I have some acne there. Since even with retinols 0.5 % drs on youtube say to start retinol 0.5 % and work your way up and use every 3 days and than every 2. Bit puzzled now. Hm. Retinaldehydestrength is apparantly 20 times that of retinol? They also said to buy the Avene Cleanance hydra for the day, that cerave balm (blue and white tub) is too much for my face (they haven't seen my face in the winter). Thanks for the info though. My suggested product (europe) is called Avene Cleanance women, smoothing night cream (but definately contains retinaldehyde). confusing confusing. It aparantly is the equivalent of Cleanance NIGHT Blemish Correcting and Age Renewing Cream. but has fragrance, urgh. I wonder what the difference is between this and yours, in Europe the product you talk about apparantly is called A-Oxitive Night Peeling cream, but not available here anymore.

Shoppers drug mart has a brand callled Reversa and they have one and it’s really nice. The Avene version in Canada is called night peeling oxidative I believe. Haven’t tried it yet

Can you use retinoids if you are allergic to niacinamide?...have not used any retinoid products.
@db-gb5xi2 жыл бұрын
You should be able to find a retinol product without niacinamide. The avene retrinal, neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair, ROC retinol correxion capsules don't have niacinamide.

@@db-gb5xi thanks...are any of those gentle enough for a beginner to skin care products?
@db-gb5xi2 жыл бұрын
@@darlenegera8866 The neutrogena and ROC are retinols which take two steps to convert to retinoic acid. The avene retrinal (retinaldehyde) takes one step. Something else that can be used is also adapalene. Both the differin gel and LRP don't contain niacinamide either. I would check out her video, how to start a retinoid in 5 easy steps. She and even other derms who have videos on retinols break them down for beginners to advanced users.

@@darlenegera8866 Any Vitamin A product can be harsh on the skin, especially in the beginning. Apply it using the "sandwich method", that helps so much with reducing the sensitivity. I like using Cerave's body moisturizer on my face for making the sandwich, and it works great with Avene retrinaldehyde.

I've been using retinal 0.05 (A-Game 5 from Geek and Gorgeous) for the past 3 weeks and the wrinkles on my forehead look worse. In fact, I didn’t even have visible wrinkles, I had some dynamic wrinkles that now are visible not only when I move the muscles. I also use snail mucin serum (Cosrex) and ceramide and centella night moisturiser (Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack). First I apply the retinal serum, then after 15-20 minutes I spray thermal water from Avene and continue with the mucin serum and the moisturiser. I'm freaking out just now looking at my skin and I don't know what to do. What am I doing wrong? Shall I continue the retinal serum or stop? How can I reverse the wrinkles that have already appeared on my forehead? I would appreciate very much if you could advise me. I love your videos and watch them regularly and I've learned so much about skincare from you.

Stop using any hyaluronic acid or that snail stuff. Hyaluronic acid is pulling the moisture from your cells, hence dehydrating your skin. Also nothing with dimeothicone in it, I was having the same issues as you and have ended up throwing out so much products and I'm really reading labels now, I listened to many dermatologists on KZbin and regret it. I don't know about this particular line she's speaking of tho, but I'm trying my best to find moisturizers that have less chemicals in them. Also it might help if after you use your mortiser you seal it in with an oil that won't clog your pores.

@@canelasdoodles Thank you so much for your advice. I stopped using the retinal serum, but I think my skin barrier is already damaged. I'll stop using the snail serum and any Hyaluronic acid products. I'll also make sure there's no dimethicone in any of the products I put on my skin. I really appreciate your help. Please, can you tell me what are you using now? Have you managed to repair your skin? I think all my products contain Hyaluronic acid and I don't know what to use to help me restore my skin barrier and get rid of the damage that retinal created (if that's even possible now).
