Even though Ashley doesnt seem to care that Tyler has abandoned his kids. I dont think that takes away from the accountability this self proclaimed Social Experiment should have in protecting contestants. They are bringing people together for marriage. There should be credit checks. Do they owe child support? Criminal charges? How many evictions? They are eliminating the normal vetting process that dating in real life provides and so they need to compensate by doing vetting on the bigger issues. If Ashley and Tyler get a joint account because Tyler owes 30k in child supp the gov will take the owed payments from their joint account. If Ashley ever wants to buy a house she wont be able to because of what Tyler owes. Marriages have financial consequences so the show should do a better job. If the internet found this info in the first week or two of the show it should have been easy to check.

I think the problem is they know that the messier the person, the more opportunity for drama and the more money they make - at someone else’s expense. 😢 I mean think about it; I know love is hard to find in this world now more than ever before. But a few of these people like Marissa and Ashley admitted that they’ve never had men treat them so well before, which leads me to believe that maybe they had low expectations/low self esteem from childhood trauma or they are used to settling. That, or they are just really easy to love bomb. There are some other people that would not be caught dead on a show like this, and would rather remain single and at peace for life lol.

The documentary rules don't reply to them because they aren't making a documentary. They are creating a show for entertainment that binds people into legal marriages. A spouse whose only a spouse for a day could potentially be held liable for child support that the other spouse owes. There are states that show zero mercy when it comes to these situations. They were wrong for this.

Technically it’s the same documentary principle as in The Real World, or reliving life on a medieval farm. The producers set up the situation then film what happens after. They edit to tell the story, but maybe the women should be vetting more. I mean, the guys sussed out pretty quickly that Brittany was interested in wealthy guys. Isn’t it fair to encourage the women to be as vigilant as well?

Documentaries don’t set up a situation, you film an already existing situation. Reality tv shows and their producers however do insert themselves in the mix therefore they have a responsibility not to put people in harms way. I think, like Hannah and Nick, Tyler and Ashley made a deal in Cabo. She found out in Cabo and they came up with a marketing plan (that’s her job) and enacted it. Once they got back, he ghosted Bri and scrubbed his FB. They created the scene back in the common apartment, where Ashley labels them „sperm babies“. She dry runs the sperm donor narrative with the girls at the costume party. Seems to go well, she gets no pushback. So they hunkered down to enjoy married life and wait for filming the reunion. What they couldn’t foresee was the balled investigative power of the fans. It’s not so much that Bri, Daeshon and Miss Lovetta came out the woodwork to tell the truth… it’s that people dug up court documents. And Jessie and Rikki‘s exposé hit the airwaves before the reunion aired (but after it was filmed). So too late for them to do any kind of damage control. As Coelen says, it’s your responsibility if you go on the show to do your due diligence. In all seasons, we’ve had women not make connections or refuse to put themselves through BS merely for clout.
