Reading Bri’s thread of texts with Tyler when he left for the show is absolutely heartbreaking. They were so obviously close, and Bri was being supportive in every way. She sent a video of the kids singing happy birthday to their Dad. He was messaging her back while filming. She even thought the kids would be in the wedding. And then boom, some time around the wedding he just ghosts her and stops responding. They didn’t deserve this.

They seem to be talking it out and even if he doesn’t move, her family seems to be fine with traveling to her. Her dad already said he would do anything for her when she was there for him when his brother died. As far as Ashley she knows and is watching because she said it but choosing to ignore and not acknowledge anything. Her perfect marriage for tv is worth more than holding Tyler accountable for his actions. They are both guilty and villains in my eyes.

@@mrsjessicasmith Yeah - what happens in DC is when someone lives that far out, you just don't end up seeing them more than once in a couple of months, and Garrett is used to seeing his family all the time. I live in the DC metro area and I just went a couple of months without seeing my in-laws but they are only 30 minutes away by car. Traffic is awful and you just get in your little world. DC makes more sense probably for Taylor for overall lifestyle, career, balance. So I kind of see what they mean.

I acknowledge this is none of my business, but then again, reality tv and public podcast and all that jazz.... so here's my two cents - I just hope that they take some time in DC and Fredericksburg or whatever and revisit this conversation. Especially if Taylor was saying they were talking about moving to SD in 5-7 years anyway. It's just strange bc Taylor made it seem like they were talking about moving later, but Garret is talking about it as if they were considering moving there sooner and/or it's already decided that they won't ever move there. I'm either missing something or they have conflicting narratives. Garrett genuinely seemed interested in a move to SD on the show except for his worries about his family, and let's be honest here bc we all see it, specifically his worries about his mother's feelings. I'm sure his mother is a nice person, etc. etc., but she came across as anxious, over-protective, and emotionally needy. Potentially even, maybe unintentionally, emotionally manipulative. I say this from experience - I know it when I see it. I also do wonder, if there is some close mindedness within his family about other cultures or experiences. Garret was nervous when Taylor didn't reveal her ethnicity in the pods; I don't think it's because of any beliefs he holds, but I do wonder if he comes from a town and family where they are just not as open to interracial relationships. I just got a vibe watching his mother meet Taylor - she just seemed so cold. Anyway, I really hope Taylor doesn't compromise too much. She was extremely clear from day one that this was a non negotiable for her. Now, on the one hand, I think it's good that she's being flexible because that also is really hard for the other person, if they meet in one region and all of a sudden one person is hell bent on moving somewhere else. But... I just fear she will never get to realize her dream of living close to her family and where she wants to. One of my close friends had this happen to her - husband promised they would move back to her hometown (which is a highly sought after urban area on a coast and where they met...) , after they lived in his home country for a few years. Well, it's been 15 years and guess what? They never moved back and now have a house and two kids there and she feels isolated and sad about this but has no choice. I hope T & G spend some real time living in San Diego before they make a final and *informed* decision about where to have and raise a family. Give it a real shot, Garrett; try living there before you make a decision and if you decide not to live there, at least Taylor will have gotten to spend a few years back there with you and her family. And break free from your mom - I don't say that in a derogatory way, but from experience. Because you are not responsible for her happiness, no matter how much she might reel you back in, and she needs to step back and allow you to live your life. And I hope she's nicer to Taylor now. I wish someone would ask about their relationship.

@@Julie-j9o Yeah I hope it doesn't become a source of resentment. Unfortunately, we often accept things early on in a relationship and convince ourselves we're okay with it and then the resentment simmers and comes out years later. Garrett needs to at least try to live in SD and give it a real shot, if nothing else but so Taylor can also see if she still likes it there, for her to spend a few years there together before settling down elsewhere. He can at least give her that much. Once he extricates himself from his enmeshed relationship with his mom, he might just do that.

Oh please Garrett’s using her for frame and the show. That’s why he didn’t want to talk about his “sex life” because he cares about his perception to enter Hollywood. He is entering his model career and got signed to an agency has an agent and doing public events. The show gave him the publicity that he needed and she is financially supporting him at the moment. @@KianaFoote Before this interview I thought Garrett on LIB was a quick thinker and talks very quickly hence his brilliance as a physicist, where as Taylor is intelligent, but is more slow and methodical in how she speaks ( not calculating). I can see that as much of a fast thinker as Garrett is, he can put his foot in his mouth sometimes 😄
