SO a week of gluten free done. I know people always get super opinionated about stuff like this, and it always ends up as very interesting comment section, so lets stay nice to one another :))
The banana bread (I used walnuts instead of choc chips and vegan butter instead of coconut oil hahah): beamingbaker.com/super-moist-...
Tahini brownies, but I used peanut butter, maple syrup and normal butter: www.bonappetit.com/recipe/glu...
The peanut butter cookies I always rave about: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/p...
This bread I basically changed loads of things, and the quantities but it was based on this: www.bakedambrosia.com/healthy...
I think thats everything I mentioned!

Also you’re right!! Unless you’re allergic or intolerant, you shouldn’t avoid gluten as doing this can actually make you develop an intolerance !!

People shouldn’t avoid gluten especially if they aren’t intolerant/coeliac most ‘gluten free’ / free from alternatives are full of sugar and artificial ingredients - My sister is a coeliac and hates that people do it for ‘health reasons’ when it is worse for you to cut it out

As a celiac this should be interesting! A lot of people forget that non celiacs should actually have gluten in their diet!

DO NOT GO GLUTEN FREE IF YOU DONT HAVE TO. I am gluten and dairy intolerant - unless you need to for health reasons, there is no reason why you should avoid gluten. In this whole pandemic situation, I am struggling to get the basics I need because free from foods are almost always out of stock in major supermarkets. Please please be considerate about free from products if you don't have to eat free from ❤

I'm both dairy free and wheat free as they both make me throw up. It is quite hard because some supermarket foods will be just wheat free or just diary free

I think the people who avoid gluten and don’t have an allergy or intolerance have made it easier for those who avoid gluten for medical reasons. Even though it’s essentially a trend, it has actually made a huge amount of options available to the Celiac community. Places where I live often have the tick of approval from whatever regulatory organisation sets the standards. In saying that though, the negative is that there would be restaurants/cafes who would label things as GF just because of the large quantity of people who just choose not to eat it.

I’ve started studying nutrition this year and one of the first things my lecturer said was if your not intolerant or allergic to gluten, being gf can actually do more bad than good

I think people assume that gluten is bad because some have an intolerance and if someone has an intolerance to something it has to be bad, I guess. I, fortunately, don't have to cut anything out of my diet, so I won't. 😄

Sad how so many people feel the need to justify why they eat the way they eat in this comments section. Coeliac people are hating on gluten intolerant people, gluten intolerant people are hating on coeliacs because they don’t believe intolerance is that bad or a real thing, people with ibs are sad because everyone forgot about them and anyone else who has decided to cut out gluten cos it makes them less bloated or they just fine that they feel better etc etc. Whoooooo gives a shit. Everyone just eat what you want and what makes you happy and makes you feel good. Ugh. What one person puts in their mouth should not be an issue to another person.. especially some random on the internet
