I am the trainer for Graco and I just showed your video to my class. Good job. One word of widson, you only need to check the security of the install at the rear facing belt path. So when you wiggle the seat dont wiggle it at the top. lol

Is the car seat safe and secure even if it wiggles at the top? I have my car seat in the middle seat secured with the lap belt and it doesn’t move more than an inch at the belt path but at the top it wiggles more than I would like it to.

I found that when I installed it in my old Lexus using the lap belt, it moved a bit more at the top as well but the base felt secure. The comment above suggest that wiggling at the top is not a good indicator and likely not advise.

Why wouldn’t you wiggle it at the top? God forbid if you were to get in a serious accident like a roll over the whole entire car seat will be moving…

Hey man I’ve been having the same issue with getting this car seat to sit tight. I push the seat down and pull the strap as much as I could but the seat still moves a bit for my comfort. Any other suggestions?

Yes, using the wedge method has worked for me. Watch the Graco Step by step install video I did, and I show exactly how I get it to fit snugly.

It is certainly bulky... It does not leave much room between the car seat and front seat in my of the cars I have installed it in. Graco does make a slim car seat similar to this if the size is a concern. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

How do you loosen the straps??

Raising the headrest will loosen them some, but you should also be able to lift the pads on the back of the chair to access the straps as well.

According to WhatToExpect.com.... “The safest spot for your baby is always in the backseat - preferably in the middle spot, away from passenger-side air bags. If your car doesn't fit a car seat securely there, place the seat on either side of the backseat (or, if you drive an SUV, in the second row).” With my 2 kids I have one installed behind each Driver/Passenger seat. If you want to use the middle, just ensure your vehicle has harness latches available in the middle... I hope that helps Simardeep

I use the wedge move to get it tighter… it requires you to get between the car seat and the front seat and apply pressure forward and down into the seat while pulling the strap up. I made a video on how to do it forward facing but the method is essentially the same. I’ll put the link below. It helps once you have it latched to press down in the middle of the seat as you pull the strap up. I found placing myself between the car seat and the front seat as leverage also helps. Be careful though over tightening it can cause the plastic piece on the latch to stretch.... sorry if that was too much info.

Hi! Just bought this seat and was looking for guidance. You can actually pull the tail thru the slot under the armrest and pull from there (with a knee or hand pressing into the car seat) . The leverage to get it tight is so much better!
