For someone who has never used anything other than a brush and roller, this video is it, amazing job explaining ❤ (I had no clue why there was 2 hoses and what the water was for 😂) oh then it stopped almost when I was done and you also explained why!! 😅 thank you so so so much!! ❤

I am beyond grateful that I came across your page. I have spent countless hours trying to determine which sprayer I wanted to invest in. I purchased a Wagner 3500 today but really wanted to invest in the magnum because I didn’t need to thin my paint before using. I was a little intimidated with the idea of the magnum because it seemed so technical . You my dear have given me the confidence to go to Lowe’s tomorrow and make that purchase. Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail step by step how to use and clean this product. You have a new subscriber and I hope to learn more with you, God bless.

Awesome explanation/instructions! Do you have advice on which tip to use for interior walls vs exterior walls vs cabinet doors, etc.?
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy6 ай бұрын
I recommend checking out www.graco.com/us/en/homeowner/how-to-buy/tipselector.html - depending on your paint type, application, and width you want to cover/spray, it will recommend what to use. In this video, I used the 517 (the widest at 10") for interior paint. Usually the 515 and 517 are my go-to, and are also good with most primers and interior or exterior paints.

Hey, i have a question. So when you clean the lines and stuff. How do you get rid of the water thats in the machine? After clearing all the paint out?
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy5 ай бұрын
For short-term storage (up to 2 days), the water stays in the line. But for long-term storage (more than 2 days), you use pump armor storage fluid in the lines instead. This is because water will corrode and damage the pump long-term.

Just purchased one and appreciate the video. I followed the steps and everything went well until I tried priming the paint. It wouldn’t do it. Tried pushing the ball valve button while running but no luck. Any thoughts?
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzyАй бұрын
@Texasphotoguy Can you walk me through what happened? When I primed for paint, I started with water and pressed the ball valve buttom before turning it on. Later when I did the paint, this wasn't necessary as the tube was pressurized with water before it started to suck the paint. Also, I am using a water based paint. Are you using water or oil based?
@TexasphotoguyАй бұрын
@@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy I think water based paint. BEHR premium plus. I followed your step by step procedure. Primed with water first. Then paint, but it would suck it up. Filter on hose was clean of debris. Checked all 3 ball valves to make sure they weren’t stuck. Flushed with water per their website. Tried again and the same problem. Water worked fine, but the paint wouldn’t prime.
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzyАй бұрын
@Texasphotoguy that's very odd that the water would work, but the paint wouldn't given that it's water based! I'll do some digging as to why that could be happening. To confirm, this is before introducing spraying through the gun, right ? Just the priming tube?
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzyАй бұрын
@Texasphotoguy when I Google that paint, it comes up at oil based not water based. If so, that's probably the issue! You'll will want to prime with mineral spirits and not water if so.
@TexasphotoguyАй бұрын
@@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy this is before spraying through the gun. I’ll look into the paint being oil based. Are you saying dilute paint with mineral spirits or prime it with mineral spirits.
@thomasneal7126 Жыл бұрын
Was hoping you might answer a question for me. From your experience, what is the longest you can wait between coats before you worry about the paint drying in the spray tip and tubes etc ... I am going to paint a small boat with mine and I have to wait a minimum 2 hours between coats. Can the sprayer sit idle for 2 hours without causing issues.
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy Жыл бұрын
I would definitely clean it between coats. I think even with a quick drying paint, it would still be too long to let it sit without cleaning the sprayer between coats. It takes a little bit to figure out, but the more you use it, the faster and easier the cleanup gets. In my opinion, it's always better to be on the safe side to ensure you'll have the perfect finish on the second coat. :)
@shawn_143 Жыл бұрын
Why the water? Could you prime with the paint .
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy Жыл бұрын
If there is any debris caught in the sprayer, the low viscosity of water will be easier to help clear the piping and prime your system.
@DrinksandDIYwithSuzy Жыл бұрын
I should add: priming with water is for water-based paints. You want to prime with mineral spirits for oil based paints. Additionally - storing the sprayer should be primed with pump armor storage fluid, because water can corrode the pump if left to sit in the machine long-term.
