In rear facing mode: Are we expected to put the baby in my avoiding the seatbelt that is now in front of the door? That seems unreasonable.

Do you need to adjust the harness as they grow or do you leave them as you raise the head rest?

I have this seat. As you raise the headrest it raises the harness at the shoulder level. If you need the harness longer you just push the button and pull the harness to loosen it, which is what I do to get our little one out. Pulling the strap tightens it back up.

Can this be safely installed with a 2-point belt in the middle seat of a car?

Most modern car seats can be installed in middle seat and is actually a best practice since most newer vehicles have side airbags. Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual and the car seat manual to see if middle placement is possible. When you say 2 point belt I assume you mean a lap belt only. It is possible but you probably want to use a locking clip on the belt and/or a lock off. Lock offs are usually built into the seat.

The Slimline LX comes with a booklet which tells you by car model which seats this will go in. In my Leon FR it can go in the front passenger seat and the rear 2 side seats but not the middle seat.
