I had lost your video and have been on the hunt it was removed from my watch history. I am about to bust out my unit, which I seem to do every 18 months or so for a project. I knew from previous experience I preferred to find your video for your straight forward approach and am so glad I did. Hopefully all is well, and thanks again for taking the time to make it and share your setup and cleanup process on this unit, it has been working for me for the last 4 years .

I do my cleaning the same way by holding it under the faucet upside down and letting water run into the inlet while pulling the trigger with my pinky. I’m surprised how long it actually takes to get all the paint residue out of the pump.

I have left it in sprayer for up to 3 hours before without problems. Just prime it good before stopping so there is no air in sprayer then remember to run the clear clog shot process once before starting painting.

@@ToddFun Ok, Worked. I bought the magnum plus several years ago and it works good for larger projects but not really suited for small jobs. This battery hand held TC PRO is a dream. I use your method for cleaning and thanks again for some good tips. I bought this unit from the local Home Depot about 3 weeks ago and it was listed for $230.00. The manager said they were closing them out and that was the price. When I unpacked it, it was complete with the 2 batteries and charger and everything listed on the various web sites, brand new. Unbelievable. Anyway, thanks again.

Good review! Would this work well for painting cabinets in a finished house with simply masking around the cabinets with a paper roll and drop cloth on the floor? ...Or is there too much overspray mist?

Too much over spray and mist for that. You would have to tape and cover everything including floors.

No, they come with some protective solution in them to prevent rusting and corrosion of internal parts. In fact you should get a small jar of the same protective solution and after cleaning real good and if you're going to store for long periods you run a cap full of some of the protective fluid they sell through the gun.

Is this the same as the graco ultra cordless? I believe they sell the same unit under a few different names. Everything looks to be the same except for the spray tip, the Tc has they gray tip, I believe a 514, but the ultra has the (very well regarded) green FF LP 514. FF stands for fine finish low pressure. Do you know if the gray one on the TC is really a FF LP? It’s not totally clear because graco do sell a standard 514 and the FF LP 514.
@ToddFun6 жыл бұрын
I did look into that. They are different product lines. Not sure what parts are interchangeable however. The one I got was just made to be different for the Big Box Stores so really I bet they are the same as the Ultra.
@derekmoen53826 жыл бұрын
The tc tips are compatible with the ff lp tips and sherwin williams has their own line of these guns the ultimate and ultimate pro. the ultra can spray flammables i believe while the tc pro cannot.

It would have been a far better review if you took the trouble to show the gun in action and described any problems when using it that you needed to over come. You mentioned cleaning and again you could have showed how simple this is. Otherwise good presentation. How long did it take to do your garage walls and door? You made a nice job of them 👍

Need to redo my garage too & was looking at airless sprayers as I started rolling & cutting a 4x8' section & DON'T wanna finish without a sprayer, lol😉 So, looking around & keep going back to these Graco cordless sprayers (as have DeWalt Max XR tools & batteries [20v Max, 60v flex] & hoping this sprayer can use those batteries too) but still unsure if will last long time, for price; or be better off going with the normal corded airless sprayer with stand etc..... What like about this is uses DeWalt batteries & not attached to a cord; but will it last & does it work with stains, acrylic type paint & solvents etc..... Thanks for this vid. Cheers , A

It will work with your 20v Max DeWalt battery. It will work with stains and other paint and solvents but you will have to change the tips which are sold on Amazon and at home depot. Batteries last a long time really.

Hi I'm from the U.K. Im a new build house painter & I brought one of these I've been decorating for 17 year & saw this & thought it would be great for spraying oil based glossed doors in the plots we paint & they don't hold enough paint there's to much stop staring changing cups. That garage must have taken a while having to keep changing cups. Even with emulsion for spraying the cutting in it run out of paint to quickly as do the battery's. I wouldn't recommend this spray gun
@ToddFun6 жыл бұрын
Didn't have that experience at all. I was able to spray out 8 gallons total over two days. So about 4 gallons of painting per day which was 16 cup changes per day. I moved fast and the paint went down real nice. I only changed batteries less than twice per day so each lasted for about 3 gallons. Maybe the power setting was wrong on your handle or maybe you needed a different nozzle tip for the oil based paint you used.
@EmiMartinezVillaLegend6 жыл бұрын
Honestly no I didn't have it on the wrong setting for the gloss/undercoat for the doors. As for the emulsion the new build house plots we paint are all white so something like this would be ideal for cutting in with as most of the plots we paint have no power but the batteries don't last long enough on a full charge. I now use the Wagner 7.5 litre sprayer the only downside is it mains powered you need an extension reel (50 meter I use). I suppose it's good for smaller jobs but I've found in my 19years experience on new build house bashing (as we call it😎) sometimes the best way is the traditional old way brush & roller as most sprayers use a lot more paint even on a low psi setting. But what ever works best for you pal looks great so good job. But its not for me I'll stick to the Wagner.
@mm-xk7pg6 жыл бұрын
Peter Campbell This is designed for really small projects like a door or two , or some lattice or a couple radiators or something. Things that dont take much paint but are time consuming to do by hand ,but still small enough to not want to get out the full size airless for. I wouldnt even consider trying to paint a whole room much less a whole building with this. Too much reloading and this gun is way heavier than a hosed gun on a traditional airless.
@EmiMartinezVillaLegend6 жыл бұрын
m m We don't use it to paint full rooms or houses just simply for cutting In & with the larger extended cup is ideal. In my opinion the Wagner works better for what I need it for & it's a hell of a lot cheaper

Only you can make a paint sprayer interesting - I have a Graco Magnum X7. Best money I ever spent. I have painted tons of stuff with it. It will also puts down a super nice gloss coat on doors. - Painting the doors Red in the Diner - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnrKq5upmL6iqpY - The only downfall it is too good. I spent a lot of time making sure the new plaster walls were perfectly smooth etc. in the house. With and egg shell the very smooth walls still had a gloss to them like a mirror. So so I had to do a final coat with a 1/4" nap roller.
@ToddFun6 жыл бұрын
Interesting problem with the mat coat. I want semi gloss for easy cleanup and I must say it has cleaned up nice the few dirty spots I have already made. Nice red doors. I see you pulling on the paint hose, sure was nice not to have that problem this time, I've done that many times in the past. And this little cordless guy is a ton easier to get cleaned up and back in storage than those pumps and hoses. Everything tucks back in a small bad yet it has the power to do the same job as the big hose and pump units. the only down side would be you have to stop to fill up a lot more when doing a big 5 gal job. But at least you don't have to stop and move the paint and sparer with the cordless. Thanks for visiting again.

If you have never used a sprayer you have no idea what you are missing. I can paint the entire exterior of my house and garage in one morning then change to trim paint and do all the trim in less than an hour. If you do not value your time, then rollers and brushes may keep you happy...but not sure why you would throw them away after one paint job. Clean them and store them properly for the next job.
