Thank you for this lesson. Two questions, 1. why did the UIF percentage not be 1% for the individual? Given that we are calculating on his gross income. If it is 2%, does that mean the company's contribution to the UIF is (always/already) included in the Gross income of individuals? 2. When calculating the take home salary, weren't we supposed to subtract the UIF contribution as well?

Yes, but the question will give you guidance whether you should use bonuses or not in your calculation.

Are you perhaps thinking of Value Added Tax (VAT)? The terms in your question does not really get used when working with PAYE. Check my percentages video to see how we work with VAT
