In 1912, Ira J. Young applied for a patent for a machine that would form split pins. The pins would later be known as “Cotter Pins”. Yes there were Gangsters back then also. Nice machine you have, I really like the blade, looks like it will move a lot of earth at one time.

Nice job on the road. But rule of thumb on a logging road depending on how steep the terrain is if you're standing at a waterbar the next one up should be at eye level if your looking up hill. That way the water won't have time to get moving fast enough to eat up the road.

Agreed. And although they are a bit more spaced out than that it's been nearly a year at this point with some pretty insane rains up there and the road looks perfect still. I think the distance will do for now. Appreciate the info though

Great job. I just started to follow. I have already seen a few of your videos, and I really like them. Keep it up.

very interesting .... how much did u purchase it n where ?
@downstateradv Жыл бұрын
Bought it for more than I'd like to admit. It is also almost completely rebuilt though so it was worth the money. Damn near show condition. It's actually for sale now if you're interested. Upstate New York.

Nice tractor. So the road becomes a cross slope interceptor. A natural hill slope has many small channels to take water down the slope. A road like that need a drain-off about every 50 yds, or so.

That's roughly the distance between the bars

Where you angle the blade there, you should take the paint off and just grease the living hell out of it, then you should be able to tap it with a hammer instead of ramming a tree. lol! Keep up the videos, they are decent

I used to work for Caterpillar, and they used to show us films about Caterpillars doing just that rolling, down a mountainside, well actually hillside. That’s when they were stressing the ROPS, roll over protective structure. Roll Bars for Caterpillars. Caterpillar does have specifications on the maximum degree of incline that you can operate safely on. Now granted where I worked, in West Texas, we didn’t even know what a hill was, much less a mountain. 🤔 But seeing one of those huge machines, roll head over end with something to see.
