He edits all this stuff and adds music. Time consuming. AND fixes all that equipment too. The only plus to that is most of the stuff he has is light equipment, except for the D4, loader, and Hitachi. Stuff on that loader can't be manhandled, it weighs alot. Can't pop out the idler and mandhandle it. Dude knows what he's doing though. I'd hire him to do jobs.

How about a video on the drones you have had in the past and present and how their quality has improved? Plus, since I can buy a pretty good Mavic Mini for less than $500, how powerful a computer does it take to edit the raw video? How long does it take to edit say a half an hour video, and how long to post to you tube and do you make a significant amount of money from all your work? As long as I'm here, how about a Join version on your channel? I, for one, would be happy to pay up to $20 a month to encourage you to post more videos, as I'm sure a lot of other folks would be as well. I'm 74 and live in an apartment in Los Angeles, but I love the upstate NY footage and equipment and tools videos. Thanks for your efforts and it is much appreciated.

jeffskent The Mavic mini looks really good, if you were filming stuff in 1080 P which still looks fine, you could get a computer out of a dumpster and edit with that, if you want to film in 4K you need to spend a couple thousand bucks

Can’t beat the on site shale. Built many a driveway in NY State. Several sites had shale or, an old quarry for base material. This saved the customer, and my truck, time and money. No DOT. Hauling on site!... thanks for the video.

Very nice video. Some of the driveway potholes are from people leaving stumps under the driveway when they build it. Some are just the rocks moving around under the ground. Nice to get them filled in. I have a part of my drive that has big rocks push up some winters. They tend to rise in the spring, late winter they start coming up.

good job andrew: the video is super professional. like better than some typical tv shows. see the thing is, you have now corrected for the errors, and made it look like an actual driveway, rather than a forest road, now think about winter and snow. of course this hill would need chains, or four wheel drive with frozen conditions. but a driveway is all conditions. it is steep enough through the narrow groove to push the snow downhill. when approaching corners, one needs positive camber, not off camber like at the top, you may remind the owner, that that work may need done, to keep the house owner from running off the hill on the off camber corner at the top. or not, and let them discover that in due course. hah

Hi Andrew I like watching your videos a lot..you work is very good.. In this Video I see a huge berm on the down hill side and can often keep water on the road and make the road into cannel..the long ditch makes for a large build up of water at the culvert.. in forest roads we would put a graded dip to divert the water over and off the road.. graded dip are not a water bar but longer along the road and allow the water to cross the road and off..thus relieving big volumes at the end and at the culvert..some folks can the graded dip a rolling dip..but it is diagonal and a gentle dip diagonal and not a right angle but about 30 degrees..the dip starts on the inside and across the road . Thx for the video..I am a retired forester..

idk wtf is angle percentage and why you'd use those but he got it wrong. anyway 62/423 gives you tangent of the angle and its equal to 0.14657... and then you use tables like this one. www.math-only-math.com/table-of-tangents-and-cotangents.html so this angle is 8° 20'

When you first started with the dozer, I was asking myself, how the heck are you going to make a ditch NOT as wide as the dozer blade. Cool to see your method of using the dozer at an angle, with corner of blade as my answer. I have to admit I had my doubts as to effectiveness when you were done, but your rainy day followup proved it worked. Thanks for your videos.

FYI Libertyauto, that dozer is a 6 way blade: up/down, left/right, and tilt. cut my teeth on that D4C Cat. If you watch carefully you can see when he tilts. nice work on a rocky/shaley driveway. I would have spent a little more time smoothing it out, but that all depends on what and how much the customer wants and how much they're willing to pay, so no criticism from me. Love to watch Andy work.

I had a dozer a little smaller than yours and i made up some rippers for it, worked out great for jobs like this, took the load off the machine for cutting. Great drone usage for the calculations, i never thought of doing that with one.

For a small machine, your 'dozer did a great job of getting through that shale. A set of rippers would make a big difference. All else being equal, a 'dozer will always do a better job of making a grade than an excavator. Another great video, Andrew 👍

Nice work. I had a driveway about a quarter mile up a steep hill. I sloped it off to a ditch with several runoffs on the gully side...worked like a charm. I used it for years with only occasional maintenance while my neighbors driveway would wash out every time it came a good rain.

I don't know about in your area but if you lay stone down or gravel it's always best to packet with some kind of roller even if it's a pull-type roller on the back of the Dozer if you pack it down tight after you're done spreading you'll get better results and the road will be less to heaving this is what causes the potholes from the freezing and thawing great video

Wow, you're a natural when it comes to operating heavy plant and grading material, you have that rare talent to be able to just eye-ball the work and end up with a really accurate tidy job.. I've worked on a load of big construction sites, mainly motorways and the like so can spot a good operator a mile off, you're doing the work of three or four men on most of your bigger jobs, normally you'd have a civil engineer setting out the gradient and such for new roads or re-working and another guy constantly measuring to check the machine driver is working to the right level and so on.. Great work and great videos, that's a whole special skill in itself, it looks easy, but making interesting videos is another rare skill.. One thing I would add though, you really need to invest in a vibrating roller, it'll easy pay for itself in less wear on the tracks of all your machines!

Great country although you don't want to plant a lot of corn or field peas. It's interesting that Andrew has a lot of talents that could applied in any number of other occupations. To our advantage and entertainment that he chose this life style. Have you seen the video about his young years - someone could almost predict how he would turn out. Great study for a social scientist or interested psychologist. He does some things that a large organization would have several talented people planning and directing someone else to do the work.
