Also not to get habs fans too excited, but the Habs have 10 picks in the first 4 rounds next year. 2 1sts, 2 2nds, 3 3rds and 3 4ths. So either expect them to make big trades with that capital, or to be moving up a lot in that draft.

Blues also got Tomas Mrsic at 113. Elite prospects had him ranked 46th overall and with the 5th best shot in the draft. Huge upside there, my steal of the 4th round over guys like Kiviharju

I’m honestly happy my Avs drafted three goalies, since that has obviously not been our teams greatest strength the last many seasons, so this should really help. And let’s hope Giorgiev and Juice stay healthy so we don’t call them up too early

Minnesota had a sneaky good draft. Good to see from them. My Flyers getting a D+ is a little harsh. Teams already admitted that if Luchenko was there in the late teens they were going to take him so it can't considered too big a reach. I'd like to think they got intel other teams would take him @ 15-20 and didn't want to risk losing him. If he was their guy, then he was their guy so i can't fault them in taking him, but for a team that comes out and says they're desperate for high end talent, i just don't see it with this player. Probably turns into a solid NHL'er, but not a legit 1C. That said, I don't think Helenius becomes that either. My big probIem with them is I didn't like kicking the can @ 32 down the road (trading with EDM) because there was alot of talented players still on the board and it makes little sense to say "well next years draft is better" as the excuse. What if it's not? What if the 10-20 players you passed on turn out to be good? What if the 25' board doesn't fall your way? Too many unknowns to make a move like that on draft day. mid season? maybe. Draft day? make the damn pick. I go solid C, but no higher.

i'm a flyers fan as well and i didn't like them trading that pick @ 32 whatsoever. Didn't even get an extra pick for doing so. People can say "next years draft will be better so it's a win" all they want, but you're now pushing that 1st rounder from the Giroux trade back ANOTHER year, and there's no 100% guarantee the player they'll get in the mid 20's next year (20-32 assuming Edmonton will go deep again) will be "better". Toom many unknowns.

@@qbranch88but you’re almost guaranteeing that pick will Edmonton will be higher than 32, assuming they don’t win the cup. You have a higher chance of a getting a better pick regardless. I understand being irritated that we didn’t get two first this year but if our scouts weren’t high on anyone in that range, I don’t hate moving the pick to next year.

Too low on Philly, getting a first next year for 32nd, bruhonen, Powell and pautov were also good value picks plus luchanko was shooting up draft boards, senneke was more of a reach than luchanko especially considering Demidov was there

Blackhawks completely screwed this draft... after such a terrible season, it's actually embarrassing. 2nd overall pick for a player exactly like Seth Jones 🤦‍♂️🗑 KD gave away two 2nd round picks to move up in the 1st round and picked players he could have gotten in the 2nd round.. he left Eiserman and Hage on the board also 🤦‍♂️ Terrible. Chicago has very specific traits they are targeting in players. They basically looked at the Avalanche team that won the cup and decided speed and competitiveness are what they are targeting. Don't have to agree with it but their moves start to make more sense when you understand what type of players they are after.

I'd take a player who knows what they're doing on the ice and just needs to get stronger and faster than a player who can do exactly one thing. Eiserman would maybe become something in the Caps pipeline but with the Isles' dev staff? Good fucking luck.

I get its your opinion but can you really grade teams draft picks? They have NHL scouts that have been following and discussing these guys all year. Also you never know how these guys are going to end up and who is actually going to hit their potential.
