I watched Super Bowl 3 and Joe Namath played pretty good even by today standards. He had 3 drops and otherwise was on the money for over 70% of his attempts. He also made some pretty good off platform throws and showcased his strong arm. He had 1 “bad” pass I felt like and 1 really good pass. Most of the plays were easy routes taken because of the way the defense played them.

If only the colts played Johnny U the whole game and not just the 4th quarter already down 16, he was injured during the season but was cleared to play in the super bowl and by the time he finally got to play he got them to score their only points, and he almost got the same stats as Namath in a quarter of a game, Namath didn’t deserve the mvp and his running back Matt snell should’ve gotten it, Matt snell had 160 all purpose yards against the best defense in football that year, almost as much as namath, and didn’t turn the ball over, Namath is hands down the Worst super bowl mvp ever
@worldtree20272 жыл бұрын
@@johnbeck2837 Watch the game, he realistically should’ve had a 70%+ completion with a good amount of yardage. It’s very easy to look at stats but in terms of film and analysis I thought he played pretty good. Certainly nowhere near the worst we’ve seen from a SBMVP. He contributed a good amount on their scoring drives and considering he played in an under center era with minimal spread and quicker pressure which lowers the quality of targets I can say that’s enough. @@RicardoAGuitar Ok yeah I suppose he could have played a bit worse and still won 3 (probably 2 though; do much less in the 92 NFCCG and they lose that one) and people would treat it the same, as we've seen with Tommy where it doesn't matter how he plays, just that his team wins (also more relevant in CCGs than SBs). He was pretty decent in the regular season. But tbf being THAT good in the playoffs for the threepeat is a super valuable, and rare, skill for a QB. And it's not like he statpadded, all three rings were his doing on a per-game basis. He deserves a HoF spot but played at the right time, QB expectations skyrocketed a few years right after he retired. Also there's the whole case that the NFL HoF is explicitly for players who contributed to the game's history. Super Bowl LI I could’ve argued James White: 14 rec, 110 yds, TD (2 rushing TD) 20 pts scored

For 1 year Joe Flacco was god and it was amazing to watch
@Setsotama2 жыл бұрын
Prior to getting to the SB, Flacco's playoff run was memorable and rather bizarre on a few levels so getting SB MVP makes sense though it should've went to Jacoby Jones. Not complaining tho, a win's a win
@Setsotama2 жыл бұрын
@Fries no, it would go to the refs almost every year
@The-fs5wn2 жыл бұрын
So was Rodgers and Eli Manning. All of their SB runs were that of a bottom seed winning the big game.
@jackwilson51522 жыл бұрын
1 catch for a 56 yard td, and a fumble should have gotten super bowl mvp? Lol what? Flacco had 3 tds 0 pics. Also was not bizarre, Flacco was dominant in playoffs in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
@quasimoto76622 жыл бұрын
I’ll vouch for Super Bowl 12. That game was absolutely DOMINATED by the Dallas Defense. That’s an A+ there. Also for Super Bowl 22? Timmy Smith ran for over 200 yards in that one. Probably should’ve gone to the entire offensive line.

I would have given Super Bowl 39 MVP to Terrell Owens. 9 catches 122 yards on one leg? Once in a lifetime performance

You definitely underrate OJ Anderson and Desmond Howard’s performances. I guess sometimes you have to see the full game and understand the circumstances to appreciate what happened.

Can't believe James White wasn't mentioned in the SB 51 part. Brady was obviously good that game (well, the second half), but White should've won MVP. One of the best Super Bowl performances ever.

1:16 Chuck Howley may be the only Super Bowl MVP from a losing team, but you can't deny the fact that 2 was his lucky number that day.

Since I am a total Tom Brady Homer I was interested to see how you would rank him, so I watched this. Soon it became clear you do not like Tom Brady so then I wanted to see how objective you could be. I would like to sincerely congratulate you on you objective, mature, fair and honest assessment of his MVPs. You could've mentioned that he gave Malcolm Butler the truck from his Superbowl 49 MVP, thus making it clear even Brady didn't think he deserved that. Still a fair assessment. I am now subscribed.

For Super Bowl 41 the MVP should’ve been Colts Safety Bob Sanders who had a Forced Fumble and Int. Both of which were huge plays that got the Colts extra opportunities on Offense.
