Do you have a target height for the pad or do you just make it level to some point?

What kind of soil do you have there looks like sand /clay mix looks to pack well also have you ever used the excavator and the large log technique for moving those piles my neighbor has an excavator business and he used that on my property to knock the piles down he grips the log with the thumb sets down in the middle of his work area and in a couple of minutes everythings flat just wondering.

The compactor would do a lot better if it had some sort of scraper blade to keep the dirt from building up on the roller, half the time when you were rolling back and forth only the middle with all the built up dirt was the only contact made to ground the outside portions of roller was up off the ground about an inch or more.

I'd swear my chair was vibrating when the IR Roller came by !!!!!! Second thought,...does that 'screamin" jimmy HAVE to be that loud, god that operator 's ears will pay for this down the road some time. Obviously just my opinion.

knowitallyankee Oh it's a "Detroit' or as it's also know as a GM Diesel,.same engine, same manufacturer, General Motors. I know that sound well.that roar or 'scream' is very typical of these 2 stroke diesels. I worked for a large GM construction equipment ( Terex ), dealership here in Canada, and folks, like me, who have worked around those engines know that sound , oh so very well. But you know folks, Chris didn't put this video up to start a general conversation about noisy engines,...but it is a wonder that more long term operators of equipment powered by these engines, didn't suffer more hearing losses. It's good to hear that this guy was wearing ear plugs at least.

You know that's illegal right?besides I don't think he could even if he wanted to because his company I think sometimes works for the city and the city requires you to have back up alarms on all of your vehicles it's an OSHA law
