Hi diane. Thank you for being amazing. Please i understand that there is pattern cup side which is difference between round bust measurement and high round bust measurements. I understand that the bra cup measurement is difference between the round bust and the under bust. Mine is 2inches for the pattern cup and 5 inches for the bra cup size. Which one is used for corset making. I need this reply diane. My head is popping. Thanks

Hello Kasia, usually, if you have 2 seams in your cup, one is passing very close to apex, so that seam should grade like mine. the 2nd one (more towards side seam) should grade 1/2 the horizontal measure (both side of the seam) I will make an additional page to my PDF this week, with 2 versions. HI Diane, thank you for a great tutorial and explanation. I have some questions regarding your measures: where do you get your measures from? why is it 16 cm. why is the dart 2,5 cm why do you take the top point down that amount? If I would like to make the bra custom made, how do I then determent how big the dart should be, and if 16 cm. is the right size for me?

Hello Balders Bud I didn't know where did I talk about a large 16 cm and dart, in this bra cup grading video, so I just watch this video again, and I can't find it. Maybe this comment is for an other video? About the measurement of the grading of the cup, honestly, I look at many many chart, I also free lance pattern & grading for many company. The measurements are all different, but also very similar. I also bought all under wire sizes & shape I could get. Than, I did an average, and find out it's about 1cm vertical & 1 cm horizontal per cup size. The double letters have double grading. I hope this could help Diane

Hello zip, My block is long to the hip so you could use it if you want a dress but if you want it shorter, just cut the pieces parallel to the bottom. And if you want to do a bra, wear your bra over your muslin, and trace the shape top and bottom to get the shape and width, Than you could report them on your pattern and even eliminate some seam.
