you're language goals!! 🙌 im inspired to study Korean harder after watching this. i have a question about a word you used around 16:44 "...가지고". i've heard ppl say that and the Korean subtitles put "어/아서" instead, so im guessing it's similar to that meaning or at least more casual version of the same thing. but could you explain what it means? ive been searching for a grammar lesson on that and i can't find anything 😭

I know this video was mostly about Ryan, but man, huuuuuuuuuuuge props to Kenji for having the courage to expose himself to such a big audience, it's not easy to do something like that, and being only a month and a half in? he's on a great way

Huge props to Kenji, I wouldn't have had the courage to expose myself like that when I was this early in my studies. Hell, I'm even now hesitating of submitting a clip but Kenji and Ryan really did a good job here

oh wow Kenji is incredible! not only is his Korean good, he is so brave for sharing that after such a short amount of time!! ive been studying Korean for a little over 2 years and the thought of filming a video and sending it to anyone, let alone a teacher, is pretty nerve-wracking. and ive even lived in Korea, too. huge props to you Kenji! you inspire me to be brave in my language learning. i predict you'll advance in your Korean quickly, with how willing you are to push yourself out of your comfort zone. 화이팅!

I'm from the Philippines too. Kenji is amazing. I've been studying Korean for more than a year now and still hasn't found the confidence. As for the 오 어 sound, I definitely find it hard too. When speaking Tagalog or especially both of my native tongue (other Philippine languages), I don't even notice or care much about the difference of o and u. Learning Korean made me more aware of that. 오 우 어 is still hard for me now.

Nah, everyone learns differently - not just at different speeds but in different ways. It's better to compare yourself to yourself in the past, and not to others who are learning a completely different way than you might be.
