My daughter graduates high school this year. She has spent years working hard on her grades. Honor roll, taking all the right classes and electives, extracurricular activities, playing sports, studying hard for her SATs, filling out college applications, school loan apps, with the hopes of being accepted at the University of her choice. Her fingers are crossed that all of her hard work and sacrifice over the past 12 years pays off. All while these kids - who didn't show up for class 99.9% of the time and failed most or all of their classes - are allowed to graduate anyway, get accepted to college, with many receiving grants and fully paid scholarships - simply because they are black. And these same people want to preach to me about 'white' privilege?

They may have graduated and been offered places at universities but they are in no way capable of completing their college education. If this had been a mainly white school that had done this it would be a National scandal with Black and Minority mouthpieces jumping up and down with fake rage. But because it happened at a predominantly black school in a city run by black administrators it will simply be swept under the rug. This is the Democrat legacy. Democrats don't give a crap about these students as long as they get their Federal funding and their shiny awards. Meanwhile yet another generation of African American youth is destined for the junk pile.

It's all just a way to get more blacks into these Cultural Marxist institutions known as "colleges", so their progressive liberal brainwashing goes ahead, unimpeded. The "professors" employed there will continue on with the "hate whitey" agenda, & the further collapse of society will gather even more steam.

This is yet another sign that the black community is in complete and total crisis. A similar thing happened in Atlanta six years ago and teachers and administrators went to prison.

JSP PRN No, the next step will be colleges and universities pushing these students through the same way. Degrees used to mean something. Now they will have no value at all if anyone who doesn't even show up for class can graduate with one.

Rob S - I am pretty sure that what you said is already happening to a certain extent...I read a comment of someone who apparently read Michelle Obama's papers from law school and the guy described them as something written by an elementary school student...he said that the papers can be found on the internet but I'm not sure.

This has been going on since the 70's , in the U. S. Air Force R. O. T. C. Officers Programs . Class of six R. O. T. C. seniors received our commissions in 72 . Getting a U. S. Air Force Officer commission required having a 2.7 G. P. A. overall . The one Black Commissioned Officer did not have the REQUIRED G. P. A. , but did " Take the courses necessary to receive a Commission ! "

Bruh, that's dumb. It's the individual's fault for not coming in to school. The teachers shoulda been more ethical, but I feel like if a student actually wants to succeed and do everything legitimately, then they'll do it. You don't know the external factors going on in these high schoolers. Family problems at home, gang shootings, husting for bread, etc. Not tryna generalize that every poor Black people live through the examples I made, but there is some truth that applies to some Black families in what I said. It's sad to hear that I've when I was in high school between 2013-2017, I've had classmates turn up to be dead and the entire school hears about it. To be honest, do you think these kids going to do anything productive in life if they're not doing well in high school? The best shot they got in their future is to work at a minimum wage job like at a McDonalds or Starbucks. I got friends that I've known from 8th grade that are unfortunately taking a wrong path in life and are repossessing bikes around DC for cash. I don't know the entire details, but I know it's not right.

There are two quotes below about this issue copied from the black woman's forum "Lipstick Alley." The name of the thread is "What Really Happened at Ballou High School (Every student graduated)." Ballou was my neighborhood school but I ended up going elsewhere for HS. I never attended a day but still got report cards. No one noticed I never enrolled but still received C's for some courses. Happens everywhere. I worked at a charter school in PA that changed unexcused absences to excused as long as the parent brought a "note". So at the and of the school year, some parents brought 2 months worth of "notes" with excuses like Please excuse my student, I was getting my hair done and didn't have a ride to get him/her to school. How do I know? It was my job to change the records. I was pissed.

This is so shameful! This is doing those kids a great disservice. That parent should be concerned about the quality of education her freshman is getting. It’s unheard of being able to miss 30 or more days of school and graduating.

They should have been handing out slips saying"I'll see you next year". Don't get me wrong i skipped my fair share of days in high school which led to me being held back a year but some of these kids missed half the damn school year and are walking across the stage on time really??? One was reported to have missed 150 days that's the entire damn school year!!!

It's terribly sad that this guy doesn't seem to know about all these "complaints" from the teachers. It could be partly true because if you want to find another teaching job you would probably just resign and leave without saying too much because if you tell the truth you will find yourself blackballed anyplace else in the area. I've made comments about this school and its fraudulent ways and I'm as mad as everyone below about students graduating when they shouldn't be. Everyone's high school diploma and college diplomas are devalued by these events. Students "defending" their inability to come to school (as usual) is absurd. No way to defend missing 3 months of school. They just didn't come and they need to own up to their own mistakes and shortcomings in character. There's never any parents in the picture in places like this. But it is a sad day when hard working students may not get into college because these types of low achieving students were accepted or if you're Asian you have to score 200 points above these students in order to get accepted. This school should have all it's funding removed. It's obvious that the money wasn't used in any positive way. People should be fired and the district should send out letters revoking the diplomas, and the colleges should start kicking them out. If you want to get somewhere in life you have to put in some effort at some point. Stop prematurely reproducing, get a true education, work hard, get married, and perhaps you'll get somewhere.

This is friggin ridiculous. What is the point in granting academic credentials that haven't been earned? It makes the credential completely worthless. The credential will be recognized as crap in the marketplace and the student will still be outcompeted by true students, so it rectifies nothing in the long run.

The administrators and teachers who let this happen should be ashamed of themselves. That being said, I haven’t heard anyone point the finger at the students. They’re just as much to blame as the teachers and administrators. Where’s Joe Clark when you need him? It’s going to take that type of personality to fix this situation.

Hey, look, if there are students involved in this who will actually make a real effort to get a college education, (and I don't mean all that getting a degree in being Black... I mean an actual education), then I say let them go anyway... that's one fewer people caught in the Ghetto trap for life and one more good citizen. Right?
