I paid $700 for that 5'' lower mid section extension that that motor has. I put a 20'' 150 Blackmax on a boat which had a 25'' transom, so I needed the extension. Those motors are easy to work on. They are the small block chevy of the outboard world.

I’d love to see you pressure wash it and see if you could break the motor free. For $500 you can’t go wrong especially since the transom is solid. You have good experience with project boats. Might be a couple million view video on the cleanup.
