I'm an old phart. I have old power tools that are no longer supported by manufacturer , most cheap knock off batters work and I can keep on power tooling. but blatant rip off on packaging should be policed by amazon and eBay. eBay used to be good. not so much anymore

Same tool 0.02oz difference is probably within the error of the scale or slight difference in the materials due to manufacturing. Same tool period

Ebay, Amazon won't do much. They just abide by their policy and move on. It's a billion dollar company. They don't care.

6.25 is an ounce measurment on scales that measure it in 100's, .03 difference means it is @ one tenth of an ounce off. But still a good video.

The price difference is the warranty. Milwaukee isn't stupid. It's like Marlboro selling their generic cigarette. With HD you purchase it twice. Once now. and one latter if it fails. As a young guy I worked part time with a guy that replace or planted trees for wealthier homes in my area. For example, a maple tree would be 20 feet tall. He would guarantee it for 3 years. He charged 3 times the original price paid from the grower. 1 for the grower, 1 for him and 1 for the replacement. I never saw him replace one.

amazon can resell them so much cheaper because of the huge amount of demand so they buy upfront a huge amount of the same unit directly from the manufacturer and get it a lot cheaper. Also amazon dosent have a huge price markup on a single item like Home depot wants to get, amazon puts the price lower but they have a huge amount of orders WORLDWIDE so they just dont care. I get all my tools from amazon and they are real (at least the amazon seller you can get fakes from the other sellers). The bosch stuff from amazon you can also register the warranty no problem from amazon.

I have a "genuine" Milwaukee 8AH battery that discharges far faster than all my 5AH and 6AH units. Seems like it would be a good idea to take it apart and see what's what.

Milwaukee’s 5 year warranty is from the purchase date (from a valid retailer) or from the date code on the tool if you don’t have a proof of purchase from a valid/approved retailer. I’ve had warranty repairs under both circumstances.

They have fake batteries on Amazon. Milwaukee won't warranty them. I had one fail and sent it in for warranty and they sent it back as counterfeit! It had generic, unlabeled blue battery cells. Luckily it was just a broken contact because it was poorly soldered so I fixed it myself, but beware the case looked identical. It might have even been a genuine case with aftermarket cells, but it looked brand new in an unopened clear clamshell!

It's getting to the point that the only way you can be certain to get the genuine article is to buy them, in person, from a local Snap On or Mac dealer. You will certainly spend more $, but you will have properly designed and manufactured stuff, with a great warranty. And these guys will come to your shop to service your account, including offering time payment options. I was in the car business about 40 years; don't think I ever broke one of there gizmos. Except for the time I used a 10+ foot pipe as a breaker bar on a 3/8" driver....finally broke when the third guy in the shop came over to help.....pretty spectacular sound when she snappedl

i pick up a boat, motor and trailer in the middle of the desert yesterday 18 footer with a 150 mercury motor and tandem trailer, first thing i did was replace the bearings , travel to home was over 200 miles, the bearing were shot, rebuilt all the bearings and seal and added buddy bearings, came home rebuilt the carbs and fixed it all and the motor has only 110 hrs on it , ! check the owner on it, and the boat was stolen and left in the middle of the desert near a gold mine, found the owner and asked him if he wanted the boat he said no , so now its a salvage unit, ! and its mine. it took some work getting out of the cayon but well worth, thank god for my harbor freight 12000# winch and doubler,

I would believe that the heavier head had just a tad more grease in it. That could be a good thing. Big take from this is that $100.00 means quite a bit people like me. I buy quality Milwaukee stuff when it counts because I'm very careful with my money. I also by store brand or Harbor Freight stuff for the same reason of I'm not going to purchase 10X more quality than I need. I needed a electric jackhammer for string of jobs then only occasional use after that. The currently available Hitachi tool was $1500 the Harbor Freight tool was $389. I completed the string of jobs just fine and it was still in great working order. I was teased a lot by other crews for my Harbor Freight Jack Hammer but those same guys borrowed it often from me. That was 20 years ago and it still works. True that Japanese Hitachi one sure looked and felt like a high quality very nice tool but it would have been like hiring 10 workers to do the job of 3 workers.

Real mileaukee batteries will flash a series of codes, if you hold down the button on them for 3 seconds. These codes dertmine how many times the batteries were charged. Fake ones won't do this. It's part of milwaukees patented circuit board. Hope this helps others..Cheers.
