10:25 The profits may be going to a charity, but it's still millionaires using your money to make themselves look good. It's a way to buy good publicity and get a tax write-off for free. 11:30 Keith Urban wants to keep a foot in the country world to exploit the tribalism and stick-togetherness in Nashville you've mentioned before. Country music is deeply insecure, and there's a strong urge to not rock the boat or be a hater. So anytime a country artist does anything there's a lot of commercial support for it, regardless of whether it's actually country music (or even good). It's the same reason pop artists want to do country crossovers, they know it will probably sell no matter how crass or bad. 13:15 FGL's output is so mixed because they themselves don't have anything interesting or meaningful to say, so they're entirely at the mercy of the songs they are handed. So when they churn out a ton of songs, yeah there's gonna be a bunch of crap mixed in.

Fuse is still mostly country and Ripcord was about 50/50 once you got past the singles. Graffiti U is a complete mess minus Gemini ( has a great ZZ Top sounding outro) but at least Speed Of Now is a small step in the right direction. It's got a few songs that brings back the Defying Gravity days

I think your right on the nose with all of these songs, I literally have to shut off my radio, because I'm so annoyed by all the crap that they call county these days. I grew up listening to the 70s 80s & 90s, much better when it was about story telling and about real life.

When God whispered your name is by far the worst country song of 2020. Respect my opinion

"What the hell are y'all doing" is a perfect sum up of country music over the last decade. That was great I died on that line 😂😂😂😂

He is right about music today. George Strait & Alan Jackson song (Murder On Music Row) gets to do with people singing now
